Aldi Slashes £8.99 Red Wine To Just £3.49 A Bottle But There's A Catch
Alright savvy shoppers, here's the scoop: Aldi is slashing the price of its Specially Selected Cairanne wine from a hefty £8.99 to an incredible £3.49 from Monday! This isn't just any wine; it's an award-winner with a rich blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan. Think mocha, spice, and all things nice like forest fruits and black cherry. A real Christmas treat!
But, here's the catch – from Monday 11th December to Sunday 17th December, Aldi's putting a limit of just two bottles per customer. They're expecting a shopping frenzy, thanks to the whopping 61% discount. Wine critics and enthusiasts are already buzzing about this deal. Jane MacQuitty, a renowned wine critic from The Times, even called it “Aldi’s Christmas present to the nation”. Social media's ablaze with excitement, with one expert tagging it as “incredible” and others urging fellow shoppers to race to the stores.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, explains that this move is all about making quality wines accessible for the festive season. It's a smart play by Aldi, balancing demand and exclusivity.
To wrap it up, Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, sums it up nicely: "Aldi's offer is a testament to how competitive the supermarket sector is, especially during the holiday season. It's a win for consumers looking for quality at an affordable price."
So, mark your calendars and set your alarms – this deal's too good to miss, but remember, it's a two-bottle cap! Happy shopping!
If you are a couple just split your shopping into two trolleys and payments to get 4 bottles. This offer is no good to me though as I can't stand wine and never buy it. A waste of good grapes. I did buy four boxes of their 55p mince pies yesterday though and they are fairly decent mince pies certainly worth 55p a box.
The catch is they are cutting the alcohol content by stealth! For the last 3 years Koolibura Shiraz was 13.5%abv. Three weeks ago I noticed the front label was the same but on the back, some were 11% and the others 13.5%, all priced the same.
