Asda's Launches New Food-to-Go Trial
If you're a regular at Asda and enjoy a good bargain, then you're in for a treat. The supermarket giant is trialling a new food-to-go concept called the "Asda Food Hub", which could just be a game changer for your shopping routine.
Eloise Hill at Retail Gazette reported that Asda is aiming to position itself as the UK's number two supermarket with this move. Initially, this new addition will be tested out in their Leicester and Dagenham stores. If it turns out to be a hit, we could see this rolling out across the nation.
So what can you expect? A convenient concession stand right at the front, offering coffee and a range of grab-and-go products. Think dynamic menu options catering to different times of the day – breakfast in the morning, lunch options midday, afternoon snacks to combat that 3pm slump, and even meal deal offerings.
One feature I think will be super handy for those of us always in a rush – you can place orders using touch screen tablets as you enter the store. Plus, they're stepping up their game by revamping ten pizza and hot food counters alongside this launch. As for the price point, Asda claims this initiative is all about providing "more quality choices at affordable prices".
Tom Church, Co-Founder of shopping community LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "It's intriguing to see how supermarkets like Asda are constantly innovating to cater to their customer's needs. The new Food Hub could be a potential game changer in terms of convenience and value."
