With energy costs set to spike by 10% next month, raising household bills by £149 annually, families are scrambling to cut costs. But according to consumer watchdog Which?, shopping at Aldi could provide a handy solution. The latest data shows that switching from Waitrose to Aldi could save shoppers £30.31 weekly, more than enough to cover the £12.41 monthly increase in energy bills.
Even those using loyalty cards at Tesco or Sainsbury’s might still find better deals at Aldi. Which?'s analysis revealed that Sainsbury’s was £19.05 pricier and Tesco £13.04 dearer, highlighting Aldi's unmatched affordability.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said, “We’ve always promised our customers that we will never be beaten on price, and when looking at the Which? analysis, the results speak for themselves. Our ongoing commitment to providing shoppers with the very best, for less clearly shines through when customers see how much money they can save simply by switching to Aldi.”
