M&S Shoppers Buzzing Over New Nostalgic Fizzy Drink Flavors

Image
  • M&S has introduced three new retro-styled soda flavors: classic cream soda, sour cherryade, and dandelion and burdock.
  • The £1.20 cans are sold individually in 250ml sizes, evoking nostalgic memories for many shoppers.
  • These unique flavors, along with the vintage design, have been a hit with customers, with many praising their taste and style.

Marks and Spencer, the esteemed UK retailer, is taking customers on a trip down memory lane with the launch of its new soda flavors. These fizzy treats, priced at £1.20 each, are available in three delightful varieties: the ever-loved classic cream soda, a tangy sour cherryade, and the distinctive dandelion and burdock. Each flavor comes in a nostalgically designed 250ml can, a departure from the usual multi-pack offerings.

As reported by James Halpin The Sun.., the sodas, released in September 2023, have been well-received by shoppers. M&S's playful marketing question, "Have you tried one of our all-new soda-licious cans yet?" mirrors the excitement surrounding these products. Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with one shopper describing the sour cherryade as "amazing," and others expressing similar sentiments for the other flavors.

These sodas are part of a larger trend of retro-inspired products, with M&S also offering white pearl strawberries, likened to white chocolate in taste. However, it's not all fizzy fun for M&S.

The company has seen the closure of several stores, a move that reflects changing retail landscapes and consumer habits. The full list of M&S closures in 2023 includes:

East Kilbride – February 2023

Fenchurch Street, London – March 2023

Meadowbank Retail Park in Edinburgh – April 2023

Castleford – April 2023

Bolton – April 2023

Cardiff – April 2023

Manchester – August 2023

Swindon – October 2023

Birmingham city centre – November 2023

Barnsley’s town centre – November 2023

These closures are in addition to the upcoming shutdowns in Aberdeen, Peterborough, and Sunderland. Despite this, M&S continues to innovate in its product offerings, appealing to both young and old shoppers with its diverse range of products.

Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "The introduction of nostalgic soda flavors is a clever strategy by M&S to connect with customers on an emotional level. It's a testament to their commitment to diversifying their offerings and staying relevant in a rapidly evolving retail landscape."
