Get Paid To Use Less Electricity Today With British Gas

Image

Hello savvy savers! Big news: Nearly 425,000 British Gas customers have the opportunity to get paid for reducing their energy consumption today. This initiative is part of the Demand Flexibility Service (DFS), activated by the National Grid ESO due to the recent cold snap.

So, the deal is simple. Use less electricity during peak hours (4.30pm to 6pm today), and get rewarded for it. Think about postponing using appliances like washing machines during these hours. The less energy you use, the more you earn – British Gas is offering £5 per kWh saved!

Now, don't worry, you won't be stumbling around in the dark. It's about smarter energy use, not going without. And here's the kicker: British Gas is passing on 100% of the rewards to you, unlike some other providers.

But, there's a catch. You need to be a British Gas customer with a smart meter and pay via direct debit. Also, you must enroll in their PeakSave scheme for a 30% reduction in energy use.

If not with British Gas then fear not. Other energy firms are also rewarding customers for efficient energy use this winter, so check if yours is participating.

British Gas is doubling down on this initiative. Besides DFS, they've got another offer: half-price electricity every Sunday until December 31, from 11am to 4pm. Sign up once, and enjoy reduced rates on Sundays, perfect for those laundry and cooking marathons!

Remember, every bit saved counts, both for your wallet and the environment. To participate, register on the British Gas website. You'll be informed via email about each event, either on the day or the day before.

James Flanders at The Sun reported on this initiative, highlighting its potential impact on both energy conservation and household finances.

And to put it all in perspective, Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, comments, "This is a win-win for consumers and the grid, reducing strain on our energy system while putting money back in the pockets of households."

So, there you have it. A chance to save money, energy, and maybe even the planet, all in one go. Let's make the most of it!

That’s a good offer for saving money. I am British Gas custome, how do I activate the offer?

This is British Gas getting almost free advertising. Was excited when received invite to get half price electricity between 11 and 4 on a Sunday. Eventually got my savings for diligently saving all our gadgets to charge between these hours, saved as much washing as possible as well as delaying using the dishwasher. When British Gas sent me my savings for the October month three days ago of £2.68, I was flabbergasted all that effort and because we delayed using the washing machine had to use the tumble dryer as this time of year washing needs to go out early for it to partially dry. There are only two of us so didn't expect much and it was to help the planet. On reflection it probably cost us as well as the planet as the tumble dryer was on longer than it would have.

In our eyes this is just another smoke screen for their sky high profits and to make their customers think they care about us. They should be exposed for pulling the wool over our eyes.

We will continue to be put out and take advantage of their supposedly wonderful scheme and maybe we'll have saved £3.00 for the month of November and maybe £3.30 for December. Do it, but don't be fooled. Roman

kloddy2001 I won't be taking part ever again. My savings for Sundays during October (two months ago), was 75p.
