As we look ahead to spring and the promise of warmer weather in the coming weeks, it’s tempting to look at holiday destinations and start planning our next trip abroad. There’s no need to worry about paying a fortune for your flights, thanks to deals uncovered by travel expert and co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, Tom Church.

Tom said: ‘I was planning a spring holiday for my family and came across so many bargain flights, they were too good not to share. The best part is that you don’t have to be based near London to get a deal - there are plenty of flights departing from Manchester Airport, too. Here are the best flights I found, each for under £50 return.’

London to Malaga - £18

Bag a 10 day getaway for a bargain price with this deal, offering you a flight from London Gatwick to Malaga for just £18 return. You’ll need to book separate tickets together, going out on the 6:05am flight on Monday, 24th April with Wizz Air and returning on the 7:10am flight on Wednesday, 3rd May with Vueling. The flight is just under 3 hours, and it’s direct.

Malaga boasts a beautiful Mediterranean climate, with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, making it a perfect place to escape to. It also offers a rich cultural experience, with its impressive museums, historic landmarks, and vibrant arts scene. The city also offers easy access to other popular attractions in the region, including the stunning beaches of the Costa del Sol and nearby cities such as Granada, Seville, and Cordoba.

London to Madrid - £34

Take a Saturday to Friday holiday to the Spanish capital this May for just £34 return. Prices are currently £21 cheaper than usual, so make the most of this deal by booking in advance. You’ll be departing on the 16:10 flight from Stansted on Saturday, 13th May and returning on the 22:30 on Friday, 19th May - all with Ryanair. You’ll spend 2.5 hours in the air on this non-stop flight.

Madrid has a rich history, stunning architecture, and world-renowned museums. Visitors can explore iconic landmarks such as the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and the Retiro Park, or indulge in the city's famous culinary scene, sampling delicious tapas and fine wines. In addition, the city hosts numerous cultural and sporting events throughout the year, including the world-famous bullfights and the Madrid Open tennis tournament.

London to Porto - £26

If you fancy a trip to Portugal, you’ll want to take a look at this deal to Porto in mid-March. You’ll be able to go direct to Porto and back from Stansted for just £26, leaving on Ryanair’s 21:05 flight on Saturday, 18th March and returning on the 6am flight on Saturday, 25th March. It’s a direct flight, so no need to worry about long layovers or catching your connection.

Porto is renowned for its world-famous port wine, which can be tasted in the many wine cellars that line the banks of the Douro River. The city also boasts a rich cultural scene, with numerous museums, galleries, and theaters, as well as a lively nightlife, with bars, clubs, and restaurants to suit all tastes. It’s also easy to get to other stunning locations in the region, such as the nearby beaches of Matosinhos or the picturesque towns of the Douro Valley.

London to Nantes - £26

Flying to Nantes could be cheaper than you think, especially if you’ve got time in early March for a week-long getaway at a bargain price. Currently, you can bag a return flight from Stansted with Ryanair for just £26, leaving on the 15:05 flight on Thursday, 2nd March and returning on the 22:10 flight on Wednesday, 8th March. These departure times are both pretty convenient - no early alarms and bleary-eyed stumbling through Security!

Visitors to Nantes can explore the magnificent Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne, which was once the residence of the Dukes of Brittany, or wander through the city's charming medieval quarter, with its cobbled streets and half-timbered houses. Nantes also boasts a vibrant arts scene, with numerous festivals and events throughout the year, including the famous Voyage a Nantes, an art exhibition that takes place throughout the city every summer.

London to Rome - £28

Head out to Salzburg and back from Manchester for just £34 with Ryanair, departing at 6:15am on Saturday, 18th March and returning at 10:10am on Saturday, 25 March. It’s just over 2 hours on this flight, making it easier if you’re travelling with kids.

Salzburg is famous for its stunning architecture, with well-preserved medieval buildings, baroque churches, and magnificent palaces. The city's historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a maze of narrow streets, charming squares, and colorful houses, featuring landmarks such as the Salzburg Cathedral and the Hohensalzburg Fortress. Manchester to Trapani - £40

The city is also a great base for exploring other nearby attractions, such as the stunning Egadi Islands, with their crystal-clear waters and unspoiled nature, or the ancient Greek ruins of Segesta and Selinunte. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful beaches and natural parks in the area, or indulge in the local wines and desserts, such as the famous cannoli and cassata.

Manchester to Alicante - £42

If Alicante is on your travel wish list this year, grab a bargain trip to the Spanish port city thanks to this deal. By booking separate tickets together, you’ll get return flights from Manchester in a week’s time for just £42. You’ll depart at 16:10 on Monday, 27th February with easyJet and return at 7:10am on Wednesday, 8th March with Ryanair. This is another 3 hour flight, so settle in for a pleasant trip over Europe.
