Frequently asked questions

Have a specific question about Eurostar? Our bargain hunting experts are here to help:
How can I find the best deals on Eurostar tickets?

Finding the best deals on Eurostar tickets can be quite simple if you know where to look. Start by booking in advance – tickets can be cheaper this way. Also, signing up for Eurostar’s newsletter and following them on social media can alert you to Eurostar flash sales or exclusive offers. Don't forget to compare prices on different dates, as flexibility might save you quite a bit.

Are there any discount codes available for Eurostar?

Yes, Eurostar occasionally releases discount codes that could save you money on your next trip. These promo codes might appear during special sales events or could be offered through partner organisations. Keep an eye out for these codes by subscribing to Eurostar’s newsletters or checking discount code websites.

Is there a way to get student discounts on Eurostar?

While Eurostar doesn't always offer a student discount directly through their website, there are ways for students to save. Third-party student discount platforms or student travel agencies sometimes feature Eurostar tickets at reduced prices. It’s always worth a check, especially for budget-conscious students eager to explore Europe.

Can I benefit from lower prices by booking my trip last minute?

Last-minute bookings can be a double-edged sword. While it’s true that Eurostar might lower prices to fill up seats close to the departure date, waiting too long could also mean missing out as trains fill up. Generally, for the biggest savings, it's recommended to book as early as possible.

Does Eurostar offer any loyalty or rewards programmes for frequent travellers?

Yes, Eurostar has a loyalty programme called Club Eurostar. It’s free to join and lets members earn points on tickets purchased. These points can be redeemed for free trips, upgrades, or discounts on your next booking. It’s a great way for frequent travellers to reap additional benefits and save money in the long term.

Hints & Tips

  2. Eurostar Flash Sale Tickets: Keep an eye out for Eurostar's Flash Sales, offering significant discounts on routes. Sign up for their newsletter or follow them on social media to get alerts.
  3. Use Railcards for Discounts: If you have a Railcard, don't forget to apply it when booking Eurostar tickets. You could save up to 1/3 off the adult fare.

Buyer's guide

For travellers keen on experiencing the charm and elegance of European railway journeys, Eurostar opens doors to a seamless blend of comfort and adventure, all while connecting the UK with several European gems like Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Before you click through to book your next railway escapade, it pays to be savvier about saving with Eurostar discount codes. Regularly updated codes can significantly reduce your fare, making that picturesque ride through the countryside more enjoyable for your wallet too. Additionally, being flexible with travel dates and booking in advance often unveils the best deals, so it's wise to have a quick look around before settling on your journey.

Understanding the booking classes and what they offer elevates your Eurostar experience from just good to luxurious. Selecting between Standard, Standard Premier, or Business Premier affects not only your legroom but also the type of service and meals provided aboard. Forthcoming deals and seasonal offers are substantial, especially when planning trips during less busy periods—the early bird indeed catches excellent rates and the most pleasant seats. Keep an eye out for exclusive online offers and consider subscribing to newsletters for the inside scoop on promotional events and vouchers. The key to unlocking a first-rate Eurostar journey lies in blending savvy booking strategies with the allure of voucher savings.

Eurostar sales

  • Flash Sales: Eurostar occasionally offers "Flash Sales" where you can snag tickets for significantly lower prices. It's a bit like that feeling when you find a £10 note in the pocket of your jeans - a fantastic surprise. These sales often have a limited window for booking and are for specific travel dates, making them perfect for impromptu weekend getaways or a spontaneous jaunt to Paris, Brussels, or Amsterdam.
  • Early Bird Deals: By booking early, travellers can take advantage of Eurostar's Early Bird Deals, often featuring discounted tickets for those who plan ahead. It’s akin to that age-old wisdom your Nan swears by - "the early bird catches the worm". In this case, the worm is affordable travel to some of Europe's most iconic destinations.
  • 2 for 1 Museum Entry: Not exactly a sale, but an ongoing promotion that feels just as good. Eurostar has teamed up with some of Europe’s most prestigious museums and galleries to offer 2 for 1 entry on exhibition tickets with your Eurostar pass. It's like buying a coffee and finding out the café has a buy-one-get-one-free offer on cake – it's the little things that make the journey more enjoyable.
  • Group Deals: For those travelling in groups, Eurostar sometimes offers deals that make going on a European adventure with friends or family more affordable. Picture planning a group holiday where, for once, everyone agrees that the deal is too good to miss. It’s a way to avoid those awkward money conversations and focus more on the experience together.
  • Seasonal Sales: Eurostar participates in typical retail seasonal sales, offering discounts around significant holidays and events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and January Sales. These deals are similar to the annual ritual of seasonal wardrobe changes, but instead of swapping out clothes, you're trading in your daily views for the sights of a European getaway.

These sales and promotions are subject to change, so it's always a good idea to check Eurostar's official website or sign up for their newsletter to stay informed about the latest deals and offers.

Delivery & Returns

Navigating delivery and return options at Eurostar presents straightforward choices, catered to your travel needs. For delivery, when you book your tickets online, you can opt for either an e-ticket or mobile ticket, both of which are conveniently sent to you at no extra cost. If you prefer a physical ticket, consider there may be charges or specific collection procedures. Returns and exchanges with Eurostar can be slightly more complex, as policies vary depending on the type of ticket you've purchased. Generally, the more flexible the ticket, the more favourable the options for changes or cancellations, though fees may apply. Always review your fare’s conditions before booking to ensure peace of mind.

What our expert thinks about Eurostar...

Shopping at Eurostar presents a distinctive experience for travelers looking for value when making their way across countries. With vouchers and promo codes often available, savvy spenders can unlock exceptional deals during Eurostar Flash Sales, making international train travel not just more affordable, but also more appealing in contrast to other forms of transportation. The focus on customer experience and convenience, through simple booking procedures and direct city centre to city centre travel, sets Eurostar apart. However, potential customers should be mindful of the booking times and flexibility options to maximise savings, as fares can fluctuate. Additionally, considering sustainability, Eurostar offers a greener alternative, which is worth noting for those conscious of their travel's environmental impact. While the platform provides substantial savings opportunities, it’s essential to compare prices and benefits here as with any major travel decision.

Before you get too excited....... we went on a Eurostar break earlier this year and there was no contact number for when things went wrong and they did go wrong for a lot of people this year 2022. We were shuffled around for over 3 hours at Gare du Nord into multiple queues with no-one telling us what was going on. No seats were made available to sit on at the station and the Eurostar staff remained tight lipped about everything. In the end we watched our train leave the station whilst still standing in a queue on the French customs side, still trying to find out what was happening. Finally we got issued some leaflets (NOT tickets) with no explanation what was happening and had to run down the platform to try and get seats together on a carriage on a train several hours later and also delayed. Needless to say they had given us leaflets which were not guaranteed to be seated together even though we had paid for them on the train that had departed earlier. It was chaos. We returned home in separate carriages. I have waited 3 months to get the problems with delays and lack of information sorted and just got given the statutory £70 between our family as a refund as per their terms and conditions. Even then there was no explanation just "we were very busy that day" response. All this has to be done by email with no direct 'phone number. Not as reliable as flying as you have someone to talk to at the end of the 'phone. They even quote to give them a "call" on the website (today i checked) if you need to change your travel plans "If you decide to call or visit us at our ticket office to make an exchange, please note that a service fee of £10 per transaction applies to Standard and Standard Premier bookings." Which is not true as they have no number to contact. You have to wait months for an acknowledgement and wait for their decision. Am just giving you my experience of travelling with Eurostar, as a family, on what was supposed to be a relaxing/dream trip to Paris !!

i like this even better than the ferry as if you are in London then you can go on this train and within a few hours you are in Paris and then you can get to Amsterdam or Brussels which is amazing for travellers like me as it is a very convenient way of travelling.
