Most frustrating trying to contact Nowtv. Trying to get into my account has cost me most of this morning. I've got a new password which then isn't recognised and, at one point I was having to type in 4 letters, some in italics....is this possible on a mobile phone.??? I feel.like cancelling the whole package....I've never been so angry!!!!!

I have been a subscriber to Now (previously NowTV) on and off for many years now. When I first took out Now it was for the Movies alone and was about 10 years ago. I was blown away by it at the time. This is before all proliferation of so many other channels since. Now has always split its offering into several categories of channel: currently they are Sports, Movies, Entertainment, Kids and Hayu. These offerings are basically the Sky library of programming. The benefit is that you are not committed beyond a month and so can walk away without penalty. I have tried all the channels at some time and they are okay. The issues with Now are several. Firstly the library such as with films is not great. At first glance it looks marvellous but it soon becomes apparent that there will be only about 2 dozen films that might really interest you. There simply isn’t that much depth to the collection especially with what you may be accustomed to on the other channels such as Disney+, Prime and Netflix. So you soon realise that you aren’t watching it anymore. Here is where the none commitment is good as you simply cancel the membership and won’t be charge again while still being able to watch until the end of that paid period. The next thing is the cost. At full price the channels are not tempting at all given what you get and what others offer. But even with the regular offers it’s not great. When you are subscribed and cancel you get a very good offer to stay but it’s only for a short period. It’s worth taking up for its duration. Then there is the way Now charge for the quality of the broadcast. There is the basic level which is poor now that HD is the norm. The films are so grainy it is disturbing. Yu have to pay an additional monthly charge called a Boost in order to get HD quality. Now while that is good quality, the price on top of the subscription makes it ridiculous. Especially as others tend to give HD as standard (bar Netflix who I will review separately). Even with the Boost offers it seems a bit of a cheek. And the quality isn’t always there. Sometimes it takes a while for it to kick up to the better quality and other times the stock of film just seems to be lower. I tend to take Now out just before Christmas, especially if there is an offer on. After that I cancel it as it’s really not that competitive at all.
