Our family car was a second-hand Toyota Corolla which was bought in 1990 and I can't remember how much we paid for it. It was a good little runner which lasted a few years.

My first car was a 1974 Ford Escort Mk1 RS2000 that I paid £100 for in 1989 it needed lot of work which I did myself, I kept it for years and only sold it because I got a ridiculous offer for it, and I mean a ridiculous amount of money

martinlufc5637 Wow they were awesome cars, I had a Sierra Cosworth, but only for 5 weeks as some kind person broke into our alarmed garage and stole it, so then I purchased a XR2 the boxy type, loved that car.......

Bonnylass3 yeah Mexico's are pretty powerful, simple to fix, never breakdown, not like today's crap, loved working on escort engines, I learned everything from one of those massive manuals you had back in the day, the ones always covered in grease and oil when asked if anyone had one you could borrow and never give back lol

I bought a 2008 Vauxhall Corsa in 2018 for about £3,000. It had only done about 30k miles at that time, it's now got just over 112k miles

MartinBluck wow that was a awesome bargain and still is with such low mileage, you'd still get a good price now if you sold it

An Opal Kadett, similar to this one -

My god it was a dog, it stunk of cabbage when the engine got hot, and the clutch gave out at the worse possible time.

Bonnylass3 Let's just say the windows were always open for ventilation, which was great fun in Winter. 😆

My first Car was a Vauxhall Cavalier. I bought this In 1996. I paid £250 for It and It cost me about £250 to get It through the MOT. Yes I got ripped off. I just passed my test and I was In an underground Car Park and I tore the side In by trying to get the Car In between a Car and a Concrete Column. Lesson learned.

My first car was a black Morris Minor with a split windscreen made in 1953.I drove to college in it from 1966 to 1970 and it served me well.It was called 00N (A) which was part of the number plate lettering.I think it was £100 to buy but not sure on that one.Fond memories of happy motoring with few cars about.
