Anyone Remember These Walkers crisps Packets?
Ask a Question
Does anyone remember when Walkers apparently gave away random ยฃ20 notes in some of their packets of crisps? And has anyone on here actually won? I used to buy loads of Walkers crisps during that time and never won a thing and never knew anyone who has. It was fun though and it would be great if they were to bring this back!
I won in the 1995 one. Where you used to get a little ticket inside and it was usually a free bag of crisps. So u can imagine our surprise when my husband at the time opened one and said to me weโve won ยฃ1000, i thought he was winding me up but no it was the top prize. I was delighted, we had just put in new windows, so it went towards that. Safe to say I have never won anything else other than a raffle here and there.
RegularComper90 thanks I remember it like it was yesterday. Although the ex was forgotten many moons ago. Where has the years gone.
Caz2 you just think it will be another free bag of crisps. But no it was genuine
I won a fiver once .. I think I was about 10 at the time and I used to stand in the local corner shop feeling for the little blue envelope.. I used to do it with the 'pogs' too.
I won ยฃ5 too M many years ago, i think thats what started me off on entering competitions , i also used to buy newspapers mainly just to enter theirs
It all paid off in the longrun, i have been quite successful at them up to now , some skills involved but mainly good luck and perseverence
we used to buy them in bulk and I won a fiver once, and no one else I knew seemed to have won anything from it
RegularComper90 Lol we used to buy them in bulk, so I was bound to win something. It usually was only a free packet of crisps, I think. Was completed stunned when I found Iโd won a fiver - after all that initial disappointment persistence helps (just as well I love crisps)
Who remembers getting the Tazoos (If i remember right, The little circle character things, that you can swap and play with)
I do seem to remember something like this ... Also how about free toys in cereal boxes loved it
Good thing about having no siblings is that I had no one to fight with over those free toys.
Oh I remember this, used to feel for the packets first and feel I did win something a few times. Forget what it was though
I never won anything but i enjoyed the thrill of trying to find a winning pack or rather my taste buds did
I did find five pound once on the street, someone has obviously dropped it and did not realise, finders keepers.
My partner met me off the bus down our road where our shopping centre is because it was 10.30pm on 20/7/22 As we walked up the hill past the shops I found a folded ยฃ10 which we shared as there was no one in sight who could have dropped it..
On a walk in Northern Ireland's Bloody Bridge area,on holiday visiting family I found an Irish ยฃ20 a few years ago, there was only daughter, partner, his brother & I, Not one of us had dropped it so I looked on it as a bonus & treated my partner, daughter & myself to a day out in Belfast travelling by train from Portadown the following day!
I vaguely remember this. I really miss the disco flavour bombs and panda pops before they added a load of sweeteners to them. oh, and the pizza pringles and cheesestrings then there are the smokey bacon flavour ones. https://www.dailyfeed.co.uk/2016/09/15-bags-crisps-wish-make-comeback/
Yes.didnt panda pops do a green one called space special or something? They had it in our local chippy& i got one when we had a friday chippy tea.Great unique tasting pop, never tasted anything like it since! Not even cream soda.
Of course, used to take them to school every so often!!! When we were allowed of course ha!
The good old days!!
Yes i remember them, always so disappointed not to win just thinking surely thatโs really unhygienic though and didnt the paper money get all greasy
I have always wondered that. But perhaps you'd get some code printed on the inside of the packet informing you that you had won, along with a website or phone number to claim your ยฃ20. That makes more sense. x
Yeah, i guess its unhygienic, so i guess they'll never bring them back now,due to coronavirus
They dont put anything but crisps in the packets nowadays S because of health and safety , incase a child swallows something loose
Anyone who did win money, plz tell us,was the actual cash inside?& did it get put in the little envelopes??
It sure did folded in little squares won ยฃ5 and alot of vouchers for free crisp remember the value use to say to the Value of 27p how prices have changed
MattyWatkins I remember a packet of Walkers crisps being 27p. I think they're about 60p now.
Wish that they still did these! Although you probably would have to lay ยฃ5 for a pack nowerdays haha
