Anyone Had Trouble Growing Tomatoes This Year?

Ask a Question

I managed to grow lots of tomatoes but only about 2 or 3 ripened unfortunately. Did you manage to grow them and for them to ripen?

Oh no sorry to here your tomato woes, you cud always make a green chutney instead, No problems with tomato myself had loads already and I still have 3plants going in the greenhouse, but I have issues with germination on courgettes, marrows and cucumber, just couldn't get em going this year, but the weather's been allover the place, my poor apples trees are bloosoming again already because it's been mild

I must admit whenever I grow tomatoes they don't seem to ripen until well into September. My neighbour did well this year and kept me supplied.

I usually try to start them really early indoors and then put in conservatory and then outside when all frost is gone.

There are lots of recipes for chutney if you have loads of unripened toms.

My mum grows tomatoes every year and sometimes she gets loads and other times she doesn't get that many. You can still use green tomatoes.
