Bread
News
Is it me but a loaf of bread is getting smaller. And less slice. And the price keeps going up and up. And all so the taste has change has well. And not for the better. I love home made bread with lot's of butter.
Buying bagettes isn't really worth it, it's the type of bread that has to be eaten within 1-2 days and that it. Plus, it's pretty small in quantity whereas rolls (they sort of look like balls) can last for as long as you want. Rolls might appear to cost a tad more than a baguette but in the long run it'll be your money's worth.
Insert the rolls in a freezer, then take out one or more, unfreeze it in a microwave for about 2-3mins and then it'll smell and taste as if it had just been bought from the supermarket.
If there aren't that type of bread on offer, sliced bread is the next cheapest one.
P.S. Don't bother buying the pre-frozen rolls from Aldi, they're too small and nowhere near as good as a traditional roll.
Yes they are. I bought a Kingsmill loaf the other day, and the bread was tiiiiiny. Ridiculous.

The system is broken but you still have to make it work.
I can't say I've noticed the loaves of bread getting smaller. I usually get the Sainsbury's Seeded Granary loaves... and very often they're reduced to clear with yellow stickers so I tend to get a couple and freeze them. I've been meaning to try baking my own for a while - have you done that before?
My daughter loves the part baked mini baguettes in her lunchbox. Tastes freshly baked but no fuss!
I like these too! I don't always want to buy a full loaf but i tend to always have a couple of packs of these in the cupboard as they have a long date on them and they go lovely with some homemade soup
