My mother in law loves getting her hair done, so we pay for her to get her hair done 3 or 4 times throughout the year. My mum loves the cinema so usually get a cinema voucher and her favourite whisky. Dad gets a voucher for his golf club and maybe something from his favourite football team. I don't buy for any other adults.

I think it depends on your budget. We've bought my parents experience days before, restaurant vouchers for somewhere they always wanted to go.

Yeah it does all get a bit repetitive so i always just try and make sure to get something i know they’ll use or take them for a day out

I always look at any offers available when I'm shopping. If you know what someone likes their tastes etc, I think pyjamas always go down well especially with the colder weather coming in. My sons always look for aftershave and smellies and I would not be forgiven if they didn't get a stocking full of chocolate and sweets. Even though they are adults.

I stick to gift cards for supermarkets these days. Cost of living... everyone needs to eat and most have lots of different departments to shop in so plenty on offer

Not often, but I am getting almost the same for my sons this year as I did last because they seemed to really love and appreciate their gifts. They are so hard to buy for so it saves me worrying about what to get.

My wife always wants t shirts every year from EMP so that's what I buy her, she's a massive iron maiden fan

Yes quite agree it becomes a bit repetitive, I do try and think outside the box though.

It does get predictable but. One year the friend who always buys me a new diary bought me something different, I was secretly devastated. Maybe some of us like getting the same every year

For grandparents I used to make a calendar (online I'm not a wizard with arts and crafts ) with pictures of my children that they loved and kids enjoyed helping to make them. Now they have hampers filled with their favourites and not that expensive to put together if you don't go mad filling it

I’ve always bought my sister and brother inlaw the same gift each year, a hamper from someone posh. This year i’ve made the hamper. I bought a kit and went shopping. They usually shop at Waitrose so I went to Aldi. I bought so much more with my money and cannot wait to see their reaction. I bought lots of the nice dark chocolate that they sell and wine.

My sister-in-law always loves a new year calendar/organiser. My husband always gets a desk diary as well as other things I think of. No one likes smellies in my family though. Last year both me and my sister needed a replacement salt and pepper mill.

I have stopped altogether and told my family to spend the money on themselves. Makes more sense than buying gifts they don’t want.

I try not to buy much of the same, likewise not things for the sake of it. So people’s favourite chocolates/sweet treats are always a good option, experiences, useful gifts. But I generally steer clear from gift sets, mugs, those kind of gifts.

My sister loves drinking different types of tea, so she gets several loose teas as a gift pretty much every year (packets nowadays not tins, tins are so expensive, but she puts them in the tins I gifted her in the past). Looking at them online at the moment.

When I was a child I used to buy my mum and nans the same gifts each year. I did not have much to spend but I also got them a calendar. I would always buy my mum bath salts, they were pretty cheap back then. I have stopped buying gifts altogether and treat people throughout the year. I much prefer having an experience with someone than giving a gift.

I buy a voucher for my dad and step mum to go for dinner. I get my mum a calendar. I take photos throughout the year and put it together. The calendar is of the children. My mum loves it. One year I did one of all the cats she had which she loved
