Charity Shops Finds

Mine was a pair of jeans from Next they cost me £2.50 they fit like a dream and cheapest I could find them online were £8 they were a brilliant pair of jeans.

Mine would be a Juicy Couture bag. It came with an original tag and receipt. I got it for £5. I carried that thing everywhere I even used it for school.

I found a charity shop that sells everything for £1. Apparently he gets everything from the other charity shops when they’ve got overstock. Defo one of my best finds

I never found anything really cheap in my local charity shop. I look in the window and I know it is for charity but i think their prices are rather high compared to other charity shops.

I got a limited edition red Wii when it first came out for £10 with games got a brand new Henry hoover for £20 still boxed it's only because I volunteered there at the time so I knew what came in

There is never anything really cheap in our local charity shops. I will go and have a look but come out with nothing. I look for things for my son but they never have anything for him.

My local charity shop is really good and often reduce every item of clothing to £1 just to clear stock and make room for new donations. They probably make more money for the charity by doing this instead of having the same higher priced items in there for ages.

You can find some amazing stuff sometimes people just have too much and need a clear out the amount of new and almost new stuff you can get in designer is incredible sometimes

I love a good jigsaw and have got a few from charity shops. So far all the pieces have been there.

My best charity shop find was a large 12ft x 9ft vintage Persian wool rug for £50, that was absolutely covered in dog hair.

Similar quality vintage ones are well over £1,000 on eBay.

A really thorough vacuum on both sides took ages on my hands and knees, but did the rug the world of good.

And I love telling admirers, "Oh this - only £50 in the charity shop!"

I haven't been to our local charity shop in ages. I used to love getting books from there and that's where I discovered the author Harlan Coben. I might go some time thanks for the reminder xx

My wife got herself a Superdry winter coat in perfect condition for £10 last year. It will be coming out of hibernation again soon, as the weather gets colder.

A family friend of mine went into a local charity shop that sells things £5 or less and she found a load of prom/bridesmaids dresses on the cheap and re sold them on sites such as Vinted and Depop she was making more than double what she paid for.

I don’t really go to charity shops but you can find really good stuff even new stuff … i once had found a Louis Vuitton shirt for £3 but it was fake but I was daring to buy it

We went to get our first furniture in a charity warehouse, I didn't even know it existed until I was looking and it was suggested to me. Our sofa was ugly but the comfiest thing ever! We got a house phone, coffee table and sofa including delivery 9 miles away for around £35-£38 all in, I can't remember exactly as it was so long ago.

But just the other week we picked up a pretty much brand new Friends Monopoly board game for just £5, it is complete and in great condition, it retails around £30.

We also picked up a limited edition Simpsons electronic Monopoly for just £10, again complete, great condition, barely used.

I love children's clothes and shoes from charity shops, children grow so quickly, they don't always get to wear all the clothes you get gifted, so a lot of new items or worn once, depending on the charity shop you can get them for a couple of pound or less. I'd imagine they get a lot of baby items come through their doors, which may also be why they like to sell them cheaply.

I do think some charity shops have become more aware of what comes through their doors and what they might be worth and so they should, but it does limit some of the bargains we may have found before, but then I also think people are more aware of bargains in some charity shops, so maybe someone gets their before us.

About a year ago I got a set of old tea cups and saucers for £5 in a charity shop

I recently bought a 19" combi colour TV for £6. It was Alba branded. It came with remote control and a bag of other bits and pieces cables etc. In the bag was a antenna signal meter which I've now sold for about £12 on ebay including postage so the TV has paid for itself and a bit of profit plus there were two packs of cables in the bag so the spares which are still sealed are listed on ebay and may fetch a few more quid. The TV is lovely too with a great picture and sound and a lot of connections. I was expecting it to be a LCD with the older cathode type backlight but in fact it is a LCD/LED set. The only minor disappointment is I can't find a multi-region code for the DVD player. Pressing 1389 brings up the secret menu but it won't allow you to change the region. It's a 720p set but will accept a 1080p signal and if you feed it a 1080p signal it definitely looks better than feeding it a 720p signal. The dvd player output isn't upscaled like some standalone dvd players so it does look low resolution on the set.

Probably the best purchase I've made at a charity shop especially as it actually made me a little money on top.

I do like a good rummage around charity shops, can't say what my best find would be but always pleased with what I manage to find for myself.

One of my local charity shops does 5 books for a £1 and thats any book including hardcovers and oversized. That is a brilliant offer which I've made use of twice. Difficult to find 5 books sometimes and 5 books can be surprisingly weighty to haul about when walking. I typically find 2 books I really want and 3 I'm more vaguely interested in. However I will often donate the other books I don't need to another charity shop.

I've never bought anything from a charity shop, second hand clothing is not for me

We have a brilliant charity shop close by that specialises in kids stuff so I’ve picked up great toys, books and clothes for bargain prices.

There are 3 other charity shops on the same road and they have been equally good for bargains. I got my daughter a school summer dress for £1.50 and luckily the one I bought on eBay never arrived so I didn’t have the hassle of sending it back.

Usually books for like 50p when the cheapest I’ve found them online for is like 4 or 5 quid. Occasionally you get something brand new as well

I love a charity shop. Got a wardrobe fir about 50 quid it's old fashioned. Had it delivered so the 50 quid included delivery. Had a decade now

Last week, I got a red copper 5 minute chef cooker all boxed and never used £5.00

Used to buy clothes as a kid with my mum there were so many branded clothes can’t remember the prices lol

The quality is good and lasts for years!

Few years ago they did 50% off even when they had 25% off on occasions was even more of a bargain!

Early in the year I paid £8 for a lovely warm Debenhams jacket/short coat.
