Christmas Ads on TV- Have Any Annoyed You?

Ask a Question

Watching TV tonight and have noticed a few more Christmas ads on during the breaks. The ad for Etsy is very annoying in my opinion. They are using the mission impossible theme but it has really annoyed me. Only seen 2 of the Etsy ads and already don't want to see them again.

Have any annoyed you? Or are there any that you really like?

I’ve not seen Etsy. M&S and Waitrose are ok I suppose.

JLouM I only saw the Etsy ones last night. They were just very annoying. I don't think they have made a good ad. I haven't seen the M&S one yet. I've seen the Waitrose one, it was fine. Haven't seen any this year so far that I have really loved.

Jerseydrew I haven't seen the Asda one yet either. I don't mind the Christmas ads starting towards the end of November but some of them started in October.

Jerseydrew I don't mind Bublè on the Christmas ads, I've just accepted that his music is a part of Christmas.

I try to record any programs I watch so I can fast forward through the adverts.

Must admit that I haven't seen any Christmas ads yet but that's because I fast forward the ads, I will have a look and update my views.

I have seen a few, Waitrose, Asda, Lidl but in my opinion think they have come out too early, I know it’s all about promoting them but by the end of November I am going to get fed up with them.

eyeballkerry I agree, it is too early for them. I know I have started buying the presents etc to stretch the budget but people don't need to see the ads to remind them that Christmas is on the way.

& the rush to buy the Carrot Family merchandise NOT for their own children but to make a tidy profit on Ebay....SO WRONG!!

janphoenix51 as much as I love Kevin the Carrot I never understood the obsession with owning one. I've seen people queuing outside the shop on the day they are first sold to get one. Never seen them on ebay for extortionate amounts though.

MrsCraig agree with you it's because it was a big thing that kids wanted so everyone went nuts for them

Not seen many christmas ads so far this year but it has become a little annoying with all the companies trying to copy john lewis

jms19 haven't seen the John Lewis one this year. There have been some years where the John Lewis ad hasn't been that great and others were better.

jms19 If people are dull enough to buy it on eBay, I don't see the problem

MrsCraig i’ve not seen it this year either but what i mean is ever since they did that one that was very popular, all the other companies have tried to copy it

The Michael Bublé Asda one must have been shown 20 times at the weekend. I think it was because I was catching up with something on ITVX and so couldn't skip the ads, but it was driving me mad!

Karen331 I still haven't seen the Asda Christmas ad yet. The only one that has annoyed me, so far anyway, is the Etsy one. Stupid idea for an ad.

If you don't like watching the ads go make a cup of tea or start watching BBC1.

I've seen the Morrisons one and it was nice. M&S I heard got a lot of flack for their ad because there was a confusion about the burning of the Xmas hats which looked like the Palestine flag colours. Also some people didn't like the burning of Xmas cards. I wouldn't say it was the best ad in the world but the msg behind it was good.

Kit kat advert is one of the worst ones I've ever seen but showing holiday ones gets on my nerves or the wee paper knickers when I'm eating my dinner
