How Many Cups Do You Own?
Ask a Question
Iโm sure itโs not just me but does anyone else have a lot of cups?
Lmao I do! Just like the many different designs there are!
Iโve lost count with how many I have!
Recently got a cute one with cats cause the price was reduced!
Toooo many, my favourite recently broke and I cried, it was for my 18th from my late father, I'm now 37 so it did last well, the handles in 4 pieces, and the stumps left behind are sharp, but the actual cup is fine, if anyone ones how to get rid of the sharp handle stumps so I can use it again without a handle,I would be very gratefull ***
slightfoot oh no sorry to hear that the cup broke!
I had the same problem with a nice Mickey Mouse cup it was a comic strip on the cup
But it was smashed!
Cracked and unable to drink from it
Didnโt want to bin it but I did
This was years ago and got annoyed cause I had only just started using it!
Got it in the sales and stupid family piling on dishes on the drying rack cracked it!
Had no choice but to bin it
Iโm trying to count in my head all the cups and mugs I have. Got to 41 and giving up now! Just remembered, plus another dozen small coffee cups. Too many.
To many iam always buying new ones for Christmas, Easter,we all have ones with photos on them people keep buying me dachshund ones just bought a wee teapot with matching cups as it looked cute I tend to use the same ones all the time
Cups are something I seem to get alot of especially mugs from others for Christmas or birthday.
We have enough cups to hold a tea party and we have a clear out regularly, im sure they breed in the cupboard as always end up with more
More than I need. I gotta a cup thing going on as well lol.I like china mugs for tea and pottery or glass for coffee.
MelissaLee1 thatโs a great collection of different cups! I wanna use glass cup for tea but scared they will crack with boiling water lol
Obviously will let it cool down a bit but still..
kitty88uk I panicked when a friend of mine heated food in a butter container but it withstood amazingly!
MelissaLee1 Lmao Iโd panic too!
When heating foods in microwave itโs best to heat like 1 or 2 minutes then get a spoon and give it a stir so the heat distributes all around
Otherwise they will be a loud pop and foods gets splattered everywhere and then you will have to wipe clean the inside!
kitty88uk Done more than more than my fair share of splatter clean lol.I heat milk in there and overstep the time all too often.
MelissaLee1 oh dear it is annoying right?! Trying to heat up foods but the spilling gets everywhere!
Think milk is thin texture so the heat makes it explode!
We got rid of a lot when we moved, but they seemed to have bred, as we have 10+ and there is only two of us
beccatavender haha whoops they just eventually increase and you have lots of different cups !!
Around 25 sent loads to charity shop couple wรจks ago I only drink outta 1 cup my grandkids give me a few years ago if I use any other cup it has to be white inside carnt drink outta a colour cup
must be 30 plus - but only about 8 which get used regularly. Wont stop me picking up others from charity shops though if I like them, although probably do need to dispose of a few
didbygraham haha tell me about it! Itโs like donโt need so many cups yet we still end up buying more!!
sarah4701 yeah same here to donate them but family are a bunch of hoarders lol
I kept using same cup that there was a crack in handle no idea how that happened
And when I was pouring in hot boiling water it snapped! Thank goodness the cup didnโt fall down onto kitchen floor tiles would have shattered to pieces! And splashed hot water everywhere
ClaireTay8080 thatโs a reasonable amount of cups to have! Others members on here have way too many!!
We own way too many. We have three shelves of mugs and cups and only use the ones on the bottom shelf. A lot have been purchased as presents and have personal meaning. But at the end of the day it is just a mug.
eyeballkerry oh that is a lot of cups! Yeah I use the save ones too!
If you donโt use then why not donate to charity shops
kitty88uk We are hoping to move soon, if itโs abroad we will definitely having a real clear out. I have got to be really โbraveโ and go for it. We are slowing starting now, my daughter is the best at this. She just throwโs anything out!
eyeballkerry haha Iโm like that too getting rid of things thatโs taking up space! But then Iโm like I want to keep them!
kitty88uk One problem I have when I have a bit of clear out, I leave a space, then within minutes my husband fills that space. Itโs so bad I took the cheese out the fridge and when I went to return to return it, he had put yogurts in the space!
eyeballkerry haha oh dear another problem lol you want to have a clear out yet the space gets filled up fast! Ans you are like itโs never going to happen! More items just randomly appear haha
I wouldn't like to put a number on it but definitely too many! A couple of shelves in the kitchen for the majority of them (carefully fitted in, a bit like Tetris) and even more in another cupboard like overflow parking.
seasider71 oh dear thatโs a lot of cups that you have to place carefully in cupboard like the Tetris game haha
I have to admit I own far too many. Every time I open the cup cupboard door I have to prepare myself for a mug avalanche !!! I have attempted to clear it out and donate some to the charity shop the trouble is I start clearing and think ahhh so and so gave me that oneโฆ.. and so on and then put them back in the cupboard
reannsgran haha an avalanche of cups would be dangerous!
Oh no! Yeah I know exactly what you mean! Iโm the same with donating clothes I get them all out and sort out clothes I donโt wear anymore then Iโll go back and get some back lol
