Does Anyone Make Their Own Advent Calendars?

Other

I’m going to make my own advent calendars for my grandchildren this year. There are lots of videos on youtube telling you how to make various shapes and sizes. Some are easier than others. I’m going to give it a go 🎄

A waste of time and money. Shop brought works out cheaper and looks better than handmade. Just look at Etsy website handmade goods.

jam45 I won’t make anything elaborate ! Just simple ones for my 3 grandchildren. I think it adds to the fun of Christmas…. A bit of home made tat 🥴

Jerseydrew I think I will. That won’t be any thing elaborate. Just 3, 1 each for my grandchildren. They are only youngsters so I think they would love them.

Yes I've done this before and had them made for me! I made one for my mum and put small beauty products, some sweet treats and some other little bits in. I had one made for me last year with a variety of different sweet treats, doesn't have to be expensive 🙂

I remember I forgot to buy my son an advent calendar last year and I felt awful. He didn't even notice. I think if you can afford to do it then go for it. I'm sure they will love it.

Imnotcheap I think it can work out expensive but I have been buying little items all year for my 2 youngest and saving sample creams and perfumes etc for my eldest. The actual calendars are going to be made from items I already have in my craft box. I’m not a great crafter but I try 🥴

I watched Stacy Solomon last year do a gonk 1 up she’d bought from shop and it looked amazing. It was a wooden 1 with 24 drawers and she done it white and gold. My oldest grandson loves gonks so I got same one and decorated it exactly same as Stacy did and put wee treats in every drawer. The good thing is he can hand it back to me this yr and I can refill it with different treats this yr. My youngest daughter mil sewed a beautiful 1 for my youngest granddaughter with lovely snow scene with little pockets to hide treats in for everyday

No we've never made our own, it's cheaper to buy them, my kids love the £1 ones, a chocolate a day and they are happy
