Who Does Most of the Housework?

Ask a Question

Who does most of the housework in your home?

Around 65% of the chores fall on women, so should it be a more even split between partners and getting the kids to help out too?

Everyone helps out but the majority of the work falls on me. No one else does it properly.

I think it should be an even split really but also depends on the circumstances. For example if one person works part time and the other works full time, but they put their money into one bank account, i think the full time worker has a right to expect the part timer to do more of the household chores

It depends on your household. I work part time so do the majority of the housework, but my husband does majority of the cooking. It is what works for us.

MrsCraig I can see that, it would depend on the dynamic of the relationship and working habits. Me and my husband both work full time so we do our fair share.

We both do certain things. I suppose he does most now. We both work. He does bins and laundry, vacuum, we both cook, I wash up, iron shirts and clean kitchen and bathroom. We both change bed. Just depends what needs doing really.

My wife does most although I clean my own home office and my son cleans his own room too. My son and me also do our own laundry and I do almost all the washing up and my wife does most of the cooking so she has a pretty easy life especially as I work full time so she doesn't have too. She does all the diy jobs too as I am useless around the house.

I have always done all the housework minus the financial side of things as maths is definitely not my strength

I do most of the housework and my other half cleans the floor tiles daily. I cut all the veg for cooking and he cooks all the food. I will do the washing up and he will rinse and dry them. We work together for all the diy jobs and the gardening.

My partner and I share the weekly clean, while he does upstairs I do downstairs but I do more cleaning overall as he tends to jobs outdoors like gardening and cleaning the cars etc so it works perfectly for us.

My husband will always help with the housework as well as my youngest daughter. So between us it gets done but we don’t have a routine.

I do most of the housework, my partner does a little when he stays at mine and my son will do a few chores if he wants something out of me, my daughter walks around blind to it all haha

I do 100% of the housework myself, I alway think that nobody cleans it as good as I do.
