Where Are You Doing Your Xmas Food Shop?
Ask a Question
Which Supermarket are you doing your Christmas food shop at this year?
I'm going to Asda because I've got £35 saved in my Xmas pot.
I will be buying mine from several different shops will need to write my list soon and work out which shops sell them at the best prices
Imnotcheap Agreed, it's the only way to shop. I will be writing a list, and then comparing the prices so I have maybe 3 supermarkets to visit.
SamGoodship I’m not doing the Christmas Day dinner but think sister is getting hers from Tesco.
If I do buy anything for Christmas it will be in Waitrose as this is where I usually shop, but this year I am out of the country until the 24th so not sure what we are doing yet.
I'll be doing mine at Asda. I have been saving my rewards on a savings card and I get 10% discount there. I'll be getting a few bits from other shops that Asda don't keep too.
Will probably hit all the major supermarkets after checking out what i can get cheaper in the discount stores
We have a Tesco delivery on the 22nd. Hopefully we will get everything, but we'll have backups anyway. Tesco are pretty good with subs too.
Usually we just do a big Tesco shop. This year tho we have some M&S vouchers to use so we will be doing ours there. Plus we have money in our Asda pot to use too, so that will get the alcohol. We don't buy our Christmas day meat. My OH grandfather is treating us to that as part of our gift. I'll nip to Aldi at some point too.
It will be all over the place, probably 4 different supermarkets around the 2 weeks of Christmas into the New Year.
Recent shops have been Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsburys mainly because of vouchers or discounted gift cards. I do little top up shops at Lidl and Aldi though on occasion.
We have been adding extra items over the last few weeks to our regular Tesco delivery - all booked up every 5 days as normal - but the fresh veg for Christmas comes from Riverford. This year I have £90 to spend on the Asda Rewards app Christmas saver card so will by getting the drinks from them. Pretty sure will pop into M&S at some stage for some extra treats too!
I’ve already reserved a shop and delivery with Morrison. I will hopefully do a shop and collect with Waitrose or better still have it delivered.
I've already started to buy things an put them by but i'll shop mainly in Aldi, Sainsbury and maybe some party food from Iceland.
I'm having it delivered with Tesco hopefully on the 16th December as no point doing a order the Saturday after has there won't be anything left.
SamGoodship yes because I'm just getting turkey joint, pigs in blankets and Yorkshire puddings which are frozen. Then tinned potatoes and peas. Got packet mash potato, stuffing and gravy granuals already. Will also get a ham joint for fridge which normally has enough date on if not will eat before Christmas day. Plus some stuff for the fridge which will be to eat before Christmas day. So yes will have to go to the local shop to get maybe more fridge stuff, bread and milk but that's it.
I get the meat from the butcher but get bits from all sorts if places. Getting some from waitrose as that's close to me
Asda. Got my slot booked already.
But, I always go last minute to my local wee Tesco and see what bargains they're giving away on Xmas Eve.
Asda again this year, helps using my dads discount particularly when it’s double discount day.
I have already placed a Christmas order with M&S for my turkey and a few other things will get all my vegetables and food from morrisons on the 23rd so I don't need to go near the shops Christmas eve as they are always to busy
Morrisons as I have nearly £50 of points saved but will check other stores for gifts and offers
Sainsbury’s. We received £150 supermarket vouchers from the council for people on a low income. We nominated Sainsbury's as we only have that and Waitrose in our small market town and Waitrose wasn’t on their list.
I’ve accumulated just under £150 on cash back this year and I’m going to turn it into a voucher for M&S to get some “treats “for the family this year
Family keeps an eye out for prices, for vegetables we usually buy from Aldi as much cheaper
Or we go to Sainbsury’s cause we collect Nectar points or go to Tesco as we get sent money off vouchers too
My partner & our daughter are doing the Christmas food shop as they have done for the last few years ,he hates doing it with me ,says I take ages! They will go to Aldi & Morrison's which are across the road from each other. I will also buy bits from Tesco,Asda,Iceland & small shops if I need to...
I always buy Buscuits,Crisps,Nuts,Chocolate,
Chutneys,Tinned goods & put them away in a big strong carrier bag in the bottom of the wardrobe & get them out when needed..
