What Are You Giving Trick or Treaters?
Ask a Question
What are you giving trick or treaters this Halloween? I’ve spent around £5 on a few bags of the swizzels sweets and some Haribo.
Asda were selling bags of sweets for 25p reduced from £1.50 so we purchased a few of those
SamGoodship they were bags of Minion chewy sweets and bags of Minion Marshmellows
I will be travelling to my sister's to spend a few days on 31st but will leave some sweets with the neighbour for her five kids lol.
I will buy some cheap sweets from Lidl next time I'm in. I don't usually get any trick or treaters but our son is friends with a few of the neighbours kids, so will have something in just in case they show up.
I don't in my area as they are quite demanding and intimidating as older kids I groups, makes me nervous
Nothing as never get any knocks in my area. I wouldn’t mind dishing out a few bags of sweets but when I’ve had them in the past I’ve just ended up eating them myself
Nothing as Halloween isn't something I take part in. I also don't want to keep opening my door to a load of strange kids, especially not during COVID. This year, I'll try not to get annoyed when they bang on my door then leave the gate open when they leave
Consumer IF you don't decorate or leave pumpkins out, people don't generally knock
SamGoodship OK... maybe generally not in your area LOL I've lived in my house for 30 odd years, never decorated/left pumpkins out yet my door is always knocked. I guess it's not universally generally the same

SamGoodship True enough but there are others in the house who do.So I let them answer doors lol.
Love Halloween, I shall have the usual giant pumpkins display, will get some cheap sweets in for the kids and packs of giant seeds ready for the adults x
slightfoot It's such a cool idea to give a little something for the adults too, I know quite a few in American do that.
SamGoodship we grow giant pumpkins for Halloween every year, about 7 years ago one of the adults asked for seeds, we have been doing seed packs ever since, I'm kinda the go to Halloween house in our area, there was only one year in the last 10 years or so that we haven't done a giant pumpkin and there was lots of disappointed kids and adults, that broke mt heart, so now I'm kinda stuck doing it every year, victim of my own success
Got some pumpkins to carve for the grandchildren..but our area doesn't seem to get trick or treaters..shame...I use to love this..with our kids..got enough sweets till Christmas
A glispe of my beautiful black Cat & me dressed up in my Witch's Hat,letting them ring my Spooky Hallowéen Door Bell & handing out sweets or coins if I'm not on shift!
Love to see the effort the parents go to with their children when they bring them to our door,my family always put Hallowéen photos on family chat of my Great Nieces & Nephews dressed up,they are fantastic...
Halloween is huge by us
We will have lots and lots of trick or treaters knocking. We will have bowls of sweets and chocolates. Our front and windows are decorated now and do are most of the neighbours. We will dress up too. Love playing the scary witch
Lizalou That sounds like loads of fun We are in a new area this year and sadly I've only seen 5 houses within walking distance so I don't think we will be getting many this year.
I never did trick or treat as a child so I feel I missed out.
I have spent a lot on sweets this year and will bag them up. I was wiped out last year! Ended up going into my own sweetie stash then my secret sweetie stash!! I was making up wardrobes at the time so they saw the bedroom light and the doorbell was rung non stop for an hour!
I always make about 100 bags up as I get loads of kids I just love Halloween I put crisps, fruit, lolly, couple chews ,2 mini chocolates bars ,small pack of sweets can't wait to see them all
I usually pick up a couple of bags of sweets just in case we have any callers but there's no children in our close so usually end up eating them myself.
In my area the parents drive the kids around the streets for trick or treating. Yesterday I saw a car pull up outside a local Tesco and drop off two young girls aged about 10/12 years old . They were saying a penny for the guy. The father said he would be back later to pick them up. I was surprised as I thought it was too early and this had died out a long time ago.
