Ask a Question

Got up at the crack of dawn, put the washing out and set off for a walk.
That lasted about thirty minutes as it started to drizzle, so back hone, get the damper washing in and throw what I can in the tumble drier.
May watch the Rugby Semi later, and them maybe a film.
I'm in Norwich, travelled up last night, getting ready to watch the best team in world Leeds United
martinlufc5637 sorry pal but Barrow FC is the best team
Lots of friends of ours support the mighty Leeds though good luck.come on Leeds
I'm staying in out of the rain and wind, so I am going to do some painting as I have just re plasted the bedroom
Well, I got up fairly early and entered and posted a few comps on here. Took ages as I have so many emails overnight. I finished my first coffee at same time then I made a huge stock pot full of Leek and Potato soup which will last a few days (might make more bread tomorrow).
It is now midday-ish and I have been writing my novel in the hope that now I am retired I might actually finish it. When I get bleary eyed I will have a cuppa and sit in front of the box with some knitting. Curry for tonight but already made with some rice from yesterday which I will fry with some egg and prawns for fried rice!
MelissaLee1 got 6 portions from 3 leeks and half a bag of potatoes, 2 onions, the rest was store cupboard stuff. Cost about Β£6 if bought in cans.
Lots of research now as book is set in 1700s in the Caribbean, not my era as I prefer medieval history. Hope I am still around to finish it!
Have a nice relaxing Sunday.
MelissaLee1 Gosh yes, I often prattle on about it on here. I give history talks to a couple of Age Concern clubs in my area and would love to do more. I can't read anything but historical fiction or fact. Princess Diana's brother is a historian and his books are very readable, I loved The White Ship Disaster.
This book will be a real challenge as the 1700s were such a time of change and colonialism by so many countries. Have done the fictional story, must get the facts correct!
You sound like everyone I want to be so organized and a good cook not to mention the novel I have always meant to.start.brilliant day and lovely food planned
Why thank you, that is a very nice thing to say, but I must say I am really not that organised. I am just getting into the retired routine and am finding it easier to plan my days now as I was wasting such a lot of time doing nothing and mooching around. I may start some decorating after Christmas.
If you have the time do start your novel. If it is anything like mine I found it more or less wrote itself once I got started but I came to a grinding halt about 20 years ago and it has been on the back burner ever since!
I will be doing laundry, cleaning the kitchen and getting stuff ready for our son going back to nursery after the holidays. Will watch a bit of TV but nothing in particular.
