Is Now a Good Time to Enter Fixed Tariff Energy Deal?

Earlier in year there was talk of energy prices dropping again in October. Wondering if this happened/if people think it is safe to reenter the fixed price tariffs yet?
The Martin Lewis newsletter is probably the best place to get this advice, I don't think there is anything he doesn't know about this stuff. I have deleted his last email so can't give you the link but you can Google it.
Hi vixe80 the prices have come down as of 1st October but as the government no longer subsidise your bills it is still there abouts what you actualluy paid last year. Here is a useful chart explaining and may be worth seeing if your current provider is offering fixes as a lot of companies still aren't taking people on to switch. Thank you
I've looked and at the moment there aren't any worthwhile deals that I can see .I will look again in a few weeks as I think fixing before the next year is a good idea, as I believe the energy price cap is predicted to rise again in January .
