Who Has Put Their Heating On Already?

Has anyone got their heating on yet? Are you planning on putting it on yet?
I had it on for a few hours yesterday as we woke up to -1° and we were working from home. I've put the electric mattress topper in place too and had a lovely warm bed to get into last night.
Jerseydrew it was a bit of a shock after the lovely temperatures we've had for October!
I’ve had to! I can’t get any washing dry… I don’t own a tumble dryer and to be honest if I did I don’t think I would be able to afford to run it
Jerseydrew I put a fan on an airer, a hack I saw on TikTok but thicker clothes don’t dry quickly and begin to smell damp so couldn’t not put the heating on
Jerseydrew I always use the laundry for mostly drying even in summer and the washer and dryer for curtains, blanket, etc. I have a washing machine - 8kg- but I rather use the laundry. It is much quicker for washing and drying everything.
I've heated airer for days it's really cold and damp to dry the thick stuff. I also wash things like my blankets when it's warm so I don't have to worry so much in the winter
Just got blankets and thermals out. Not put heating on just yet. Probably will give in as soon as a frost if we can stand it. I don’t have tumble dryer either. Everything dries on airer or banister rail. Anything I can iron will also dry a little. Anything big there is a launderette nearby where I can dry thick items.
I’ve put mine on for an hour yesterday and again today when my grandchildren were here. Luckily my house seems to hold the heat well so my house was warm for a couple of hours. Blooming cold now though so I’m off to bed !!!
I normally sleep between 2 duvets but I'm now at the bottom with 2 duvets on top. Proper toasty. Not had to use heating yet. I think the lowest its been is 7 degrees around here (south west) but there is a wind chill factor outside.
Yes our heating is on but the thermostat has been reduced to 19. I also use an heated throw which is low cost to run.
I guess you just need to put your heating on when you feel you need it on, we're all different.
I daren't put it on yet as I would feel the cold and need it on even more if I get too used to it. I am trying to acclimatise to the colder weather and wearing more layers and adding a blanket over my quilt as I haven't been bothered to change to my winter quilt yet. Last year the heating didn't go on until December so am aiming for that again. Even then it was just in the morning for a couple of hours and then my heated blanket for evening in front of tv.
We had ours on yesterday as my parents were visiting. Its been cold here but we've just put extra Jumpers on. Haven't had it on for long though.
Yeah I've had it on, I have problems with my legs and the cold make its worse, I've had no choice but to have it on
Yes, for short periods of time. I prefer to use a dehumidifier, layered clothing, thicker duvet and a hot water bottle to maintain a good level of warmth
I have put ours on a bit. The missus has a lot of serious health problems so she feels the cold it can cause her a lot of pain
Yes, I have mine on a night and same days me and my dogs go out to a centre sometime they give you free food because they have cooked too much
Had to put it on at the start of this week, a little earlier than i would have liked but can’t be sitting in the cold when I’m at home trying to relax
absolutely put the heating on, and called my elderly parents to make sure they had put theirs on. They had not!!! so they had a little scolding- they are in their 80s and need the heat...love them to bits but have to check that they do these things
Not used heating for three or four years now, you kinda get used to it if you wrap up properly and use launderette for drying clothes as i don't want damp and mould on my walls
No just put an extra blanket on top of the duvet, before I put the blanket on today I actually put our electric one on the other day!
Weather is turning cold,I ran/ walked to work through my estate, down the hill & along part of The Trans Pennine Trail, the cold took my breath away!
Turned on just the other day, too cold especially for the child in the house. If it was just adults with decent immune systems, we'd probably hold out longer.
We've tried not to put it on, but my husband caved last weekend when we had visitors in, and you could almost see your breath in my living room
Not a chance not gonna lie I've been tempted but I'm so stubborn I refuse to give the greedy companies money I'll put it on eventually but not until I absolutely can't hold out any longer
I did on Wednesday for a few hours but it's back off now as it was pretty mild yesterday and my flats feeling OK today, trying to hold off for as long as possible this year as my gas bill was horrendous last year. I've got an electric heater if I need a bit of warmth until it gets properly cold
No not a chance it's going on before it gets really cold. Blankets and layers are good for now.
We had our radiators on yesterday & today as it was freezing, need to to be comfortable after all..
