Only Iron a shirt if I am going out somewhere nice.

Otherwise I take my clothes off the line and fold them in such a way they don't really need it.

blacklabrador That's what I do, just iron something if I really need to.

Only for formal occasions, i'm pretty good at most household tasks but ironing I'm just rubbish at. If i just hang my clothes they seem to not require it thankfully.

I hadn’t ironed anything for years and nearly got rid of the iron and board. But now my daughter has started school I’m glad I kept them so that her clothes look a bit more neat!

snoogans888 I used to iron all of my daughters uniform then decided I'd just neatly fold/hang up instead and I won't go back now lol.

I ask my partner to do this for me when he's ironing his when we are going somewhere special as I suffer back problems & he doesn't..

Most of the time I wear clothes that don't need ironing..

As soon as our Student Radiographer daughter went to University, she bought an Iron & Ironing Mat,she prefers the mat to an ironing board.

I worked with a lad for a few years who's coming up 31 in November who NEVER irons, wears jogging bottoms,t shirts & hoodies.

In my job at the company I left a few years ago after 11 years I worked with a woman who NEVER cooked or ironed, she was in her 30's & her role as a Caregiver included these jobs!!

These days I tend to have clothes that don't need ironing but if it was something that needed it then I would otherwise I always put on hangers to dry and bedding is folded up nicely and never needs ironing, saves on electric too.

Pjran I have never heard of ironing tea towels and flannels (bed sheets?). I always thought it was only royalty staff did this. I only iron thick blouses and skirts that needs to be ironed.

jam45 I even used to iron my daughters‘ frilly socks. I fold my flannels (washing cloths) and neatly arrange near the basin.

Pjran I've never heard of anyone ironing tea towels before, maybe mine are a different material? Because they don't seem like they need it but those fancier ones are a stiffer material.

SamGoodship I have some linen ones and believe me they look so much better ironed.

I've not worn formal wear since before I went on maternity 7 years ago. Post covid a trip to the office is rare & because its not a UK owned company we just don't bother now. I still have an iron but just have a mat now instead of a board to iron my linen holiday shirts. And that's all the ironing I ever do now. I always hated it & I'm glad 😊

I try not to iron my clothes by folding them carefully straight from the washing line but some things have to be ironed

Only if what I want to wear is badly creased, but most of my clothes don't need ironing. My sister in law ironspretty much everything, she loves ironing and calls her family while she does it 😂

I have very few clothes that require ironing, even then I only iron when I'm wearing one of those items the next day.

You couldn't pay me to iron! In fact the last thing I did iron was my husband's shirt for our wedding over six years ago 😂

I only iron what has to be ironed, usually my husbands husband shirts and some of my work clothes but I don't iron anything that doesn't need it. Just don't have the time

Yes husband’s shirts and work uniform or evening outfit if going out (which is rare). Only as needed.

I remember back in school one of my friends being upset cos she’d to wear yesterdays socks to school. Her mum hadn’t done the ironing so there was none for her. We were all asking her did her mum really iron her socks while she was shocked none of us had clean “ironed” socks everyday. To this day I’ve never met anyone who irons socks

I only iron the bare minimum. usualy a couple of shirts as I have to go into the office twice a week. One shirt I can get away with but the other one really needs ironing sadly. Nothing else ever gets ironed if I can help it

I do iron my clothes and for others in my family. I don’t iron everything. I used to work for an elderly lady and had to iron all her bed sheets etc, that was a real pain.

kate1310 I never iron bed covers - duvets. All my duvet covers are from Argos, Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys and do not need ironing. A waste of electricity if you ask me.

Like many other, I own a iron but only use it when I really have too. My mum always taught me to shake the washing before hanging it which helps alot with creases.
