Do you iron your clothes?
According to The Guardian, 3 out of 10 young people don't even own an iron! So is it a necessity to always iron your clothes?

Only if what I want to wear is badly creased, but most of my clothes don't need ironing. My sister in law ironspretty much everything, she loves ironing and calls her family while she does it
G0501 ....That's fine as long as she doesn't forget, put the iron to her ear while trying to iron with her phone....You know the sketch!!
I have very few clothes that require ironing, even then I only iron when I'm wearing one of those items the next day.
You couldn't pay me to iron! In fact the last thing I did iron was my husband's shirt for our wedding over six years ago
Don’t iron only time is white shirts for special occasions, everything I shake and fold maybe put under mattress, I used to iron everything but most of the modern fabric don’t need
A few of the comments have made me giggle, I HATE ironing when I lived at home it was my job to do it on a Sunday for whole family of 6 & only things not ironed were towels & socks
I only iron what has to be ironed, usually my husbands husband shirts and some of my work clothes but I don't iron anything that doesn't need it. Just don't have the time
Yes husband’s shirts and work uniform or evening outfit if going out (which is rare). Only as needed.
I remember back in school one of my friends being upset cos she’d to wear yesterdays socks to school. Her mum hadn’t done the ironing so there was none for her. We were all asking her did her mum really iron her socks while she was shocked none of us had clean “ironed” socks everyday. To this day I’ve never met anyone who irons socks
I only iron the bare minimum. usualy a couple of shirts as I have to go into the office twice a week. One shirt I can get away with but the other one really needs ironing sadly. Nothing else ever gets ironed if I can help it
I gave up ironing about 5 years ago - the only thing I would iron are going out a bit posh clothes!
I do iron my clothes and for others in my family. I don’t iron everything. I used to work for an elderly lady and had to iron all her bed sheets etc, that was a real pain.
I have not ironed now for at least 20 years. It is not necessary in this day and age with all the up to date technology
Yes I iron all the clothes I use to iron underwear, socks, towels before I got a life I definitely need to iron my bed covers I hate the thought of going in it not ironed things always look better with a little iron lol
I only iron if i have too to be honest most the time my laundry does not need it which makes me happy as i really dont like doing it
Like many other, I own a iron but only use it when I really have too. My mum always taught me to shake the washing before hanging it which helps alot with creases.
No need unless it's 100%cotton or silk. Carful washing/line drying prevents a lots of ironing for me
Iron most of my clothes. I used to absolutely hate ironing as I would always end up burning my clothes. But since my new iron I've actually enjoyed it. As it prevents burns.
No not anymore as the material I get nowadays seem to be not need Ironing. If Its a formal shirt which Is seldom then yes. Anything else, NO.
I only ever iron if it really needs it, never been much good at it so just takes so much time. Most of the clothes are hung up and don’t need ironed thankfully
I only iron my son's clothes for work. As for me and my hubby, it's taken off the clothes line and hung straight onto hangers.
How is everyone getting away with not ironing? All my clothes always need it even when they've been hung they always still look like they need ironing. I'd love to know as I LOATH ironing.
I don't iron bedding, pjs etc, but clothes absolutely.
Glitterandgold I thinking depends alot on the type of clothing you wear, the material type makes a big difference, I don't wear a uniform form work anymore, skinny jeans and Primark t-shirts just don't need to see the iron, but if you have uniforms, work blouses, kids school clothes ect it's a different story I would imagine
I usually do but have got behind on ironing with the school holidays I wanted to do things with my kids not just do housework so some things are getting worn out of ironing pile
I iron everything even socks and towels, I find everything packs away better when it’s ironed. I do it in front of the telly so it’s not a great hardship
Nope only my kids school uniform or maybe if a item of clothing needs it before I put it on
Not anymore, only for special occasions, funerals, weddings ect, tbh I have a few items in the past, that I have only worn once, as they came out the wash sooooo creased,I just can't face ironing them, I pay attention to material type when buying new clothes these days
Only when I am going somewhere and it really needs ironing otherwise I don't bother, it is the one thing I hate
Not unless its a special occasion like a wedding or job interview when i will iron the shirt
Last time I touched the iron was to shorten some curtains with wonder web…and that’s only because they were cheap! Lol.
Ironing is a complete waste of life imho, and should only be done with clothes for weddings and funerals.
No tumble dry everything got sensor dryer which is brilliant.Sooner spend a little extra on electric than waste my time for hours
I have ironed since the children left home, buy things that don’t need ironing give them a good shake when I take out the washer peg out carefully and fold neatly, might iron the odd shirt etc if going to a wedding or funeral but that’s it, life’s too short
