Mmm. Been caught out this time. I bought 4 packets of biscuits thinking they were £1 each. On checking shopping and receipt later only one packet was £1. The other 3 were actually £1.80. Well we didn’t notice on the shelf at the time but on closer inspection at home the £1 was 125g and the others are 111g each. But the 111g ones have a shorter date than the 125g. . I’ve been done but I can’t be bothered to go back and argue. Down to experience- be more observant at the shelves to what I’m actually buying. I don’t think there was any shelf label to make it clear that was the case though. All bundled together. This was Asda. Just be warned and don’t make my mistake.
It happens!
I got pack of chocolates few months back was on offer
Didn’t notice the expiry date until I went to open them! Expired past a whole month or so no idea why they were still selling them!
This was Sainbsury’s so I contacted them via Twitter and they gave me a great amount of Nectar card points to use! Well happy haha was lucky
Happens all the time.Always check the right thing is in the right place. Also that reduced price items scan at the correct price.
MelissaLee1 I agree, a lot of shoppers are responsible for messing up the shelves, they just put things back any old place. I often find myself rearranging to correct place!
Lynibis I started picking things off the floor in Primark one but it got silly .It's not only shoppers unfortunately. Sometimes shelf fillers stack things incorrectly as well.
I got 7 boxexs of vegetable burgers for 20P a box instead of £1.30 but did notice they had tilled at full price until I got home, so I went back to the shop and told them they did sort it out and give me a 5.00 gift card
I remember nearly being caught out with paper but we noticed the total was high and checked then had to go back and get right paper
Good topic! I check my receipt before leaving any store because I've been overcharged many times and make a point of getting my money back immediately. As prices have fluctuated, I've noticed more often that stores aren't keeping up with updating the shelf price
Consumer Me too. Years ago I used to get a £2 gift voucher from Asda if I was overcharged. I got more than £30 worth of gift vouchers over the years. Recently I went to customer service and pointed out a pack of biscuit was reduced. I was given/refunded the difference and no gift voucher.
Ooh thanks for the reminder to check prices when buying items. I use the self scanner for my main shop
