How Often Do You Wash Your Towels?
Ask a Question
We do our towels every 1 - 2 weeks.
However, my mum does it daily
My neighbour does it once a month.
Ive spoken to some who hardly do it saying it should be clean after a bath or shower and just needs drying...
Do you agree? How often do you do this?
I wash the hand towel in the kitchen daily. All other towels are washed every three days.
I have a bath every night and use my towels twice before washing them, anyone who believes that towels should be clean after a shower or a bath would be horrified if they knew the amount of dirt that collects in them, Google It And See For Yourself.
I was washing mine every time I used one my partner said to my son he should use his a couple of times so we use them twice what a big difference to my washing basket especially with 2 baths or showers a day
We wash our towels at least once a week, bath towels I will use twice, hand towels we change once a week.
We don't use towels in the kitchen, dry hands on kitchen paper.
beccatavender I also use paper towels in the kitchen for drying my hands, my pet hate is people using the dish towels to do this, I've lost count the amount of times I've been doing a job for someone who tells me to use them, I now take a small hand towel with me.
Once a week. Bath towels are probably used twice before being washed and hand towels are changed every week.
Every day, I've witnessed my 3 y/o wipe his willy on the towel after peeing, I don't trust the towels now
I really enjoyed reading this! This is one of the best chat I have read in years. Do you trust hotels and visiting friends and family bathrooms?????????
After every couple of uses. Can’t beat a lovely fresh towel. Hand towels as often as possible
When I was living on my own it was every time I washed now it's every other day. We all have our own towel too.
Towels get washed every 1-2 weeks - surprised to read that some people wash them after every use or 2 uses
Every time bath towels are used. Change hand towels in toilets and kitchen everyday. Dish towel everyday. My kids get the towels disgusting, my hubby suffers from bad eczema so like to wash dry skin of it. I do several washes everyday anyway with four kids two adults. One being a new teen.
It really depends how often the towels have been used. I don’t put them all together otherwise my machine drum won’t spin. So it is often spread out.
Usually every 2 to 3 days i change towels. It’s like clean bedding imo, it’s nice to have a fresh clean towel to dry off with after a shower
Depends how dirty. I’ll use a bath towel 3 times before washing. Hand towels weekly. Then alternate them.
All depends on how much use they've had but minimum once a week, we also have our own towels.
I wash my shower towel every 3 days. Even after a shower, a towel removes dead skin cells, germs and other organisms. If you haven't washed properly, it'll remove dirt and possibly bacteria related to bowel movements...
Whenever they need to be which is around two to three weeks. I don't see why they need washing more often unless dirty. Maybe there is a good reason if someone would like to enlighten me !
Towels - hand & shower - once a week. Pool ones after use (for our children). Kitchen towels usually 2 days as we use them for clean things; I have other small towels / cloths for clean up and wiping down surfaces and they go in the wash as soon as used.
I use to use a bath towel twice then wash it. But now not having heating on and weather is so bad so can't dry outside. I use it as long as possible maybe two weeks or more. I hate doing this but can't dry anything. Towels are left in bags until I can put them outside to dry which might be March or April the following year.
KAW18 I always take my washed clothes to the launderette for drying only (except for blankets and heavy curtains, which I will use the launderettes' washing machines. I am not risking damaging my own washing machine) and pay £1 for 6 minutes for clothes that is almost dry or is too cold to touch and £2 for 12 minutes drying at a time. It is worth every "penny" and sometimes I get to chat to the other customers and read my newspaper.
