Price Hikes

Is anyone else getting increasingly annoyed with the Black Friday price hikes? There are a couple of specific toys I want to get my son for Christmas and I’ve been watching the price which was roughly £60 and each shop is now putting it on sale as RRP £72.99 reduced to £60. I’m now hoping that those who buy it sell it second hand next year for his birthday. Just a bit frustrating.
The air fryer I bought a few months ago for £60 went up to £80 a week or so back and I suspect will be a big Black Friday reduction if not already. It's like when you see these was £300 now £50 reductions it seems like the prices go sky high when out of stock and then come down again when back in stock just to claim a huge reduction. Most shops are quite clever at working the rules in their favour. It's always about the final price not about the reduction. A item that was £55 now £50 can be a better offer than a £300 to £50 reduction if that £55 price was already a very good price.
As ever it just needs a bit of common sense and a realistic lack of trust in retailers.
The same happened to me, Amazon are the worsed for it, I was watching a toy it was always £50 then I'm black Friday sale it went up to £75!!!
martinlufc5637 Currys and other similar stores have been deceiving people for years this way, they go on tv advertising products with huge reductions
If you freeze the advert , in tiny writing underneath you will see the item was sold at a higher price in a certain store for one month, it only stays there for a few seconds so impossible to read unless you freeze it by recording it
This justifies them bringing the price down to the normal cost and stating it is a large reduction
They are up to all kind of tricks to make a profit
I've been keeping an eye on the prices of stuff I want to buy my son. The prices where I looked stayed the same and have now been reduced so I bought them and saved £60. You just have to watch where you are buying stuff.
