Do You Recycle Crisps Packets?

Ask a Question

On the packets it says don’t recycle at home but at recycling points

So I’ve been putting them together with plastic bags like fruit and bread bags and taking them to Sainbsury’s recycling bin

Does anyone else do this?

I used to just throw them away but since seeing the label I take to them recycle

Perhaps to also help with crisps packets becoming litter they could introduce the old system of 'money back' as they used to do on pop bottles years ago. 2p to 5p per packet returned for recycling?

kate1310 I never put mine in the supermarkets recycling bin, although they say it is acceptable. Crisps and savoury snacks are covered in oil. I always bin mine in the household bin.

A lot of packages say 'Recycle with carrier bags at the supermarket'

I gather them together and recycle them in store, I need to remember to mark it as a recycle point on the Bower app though, as you get paid to recycle, even at your home bins with the relevant packaging!
