Is Your Post Late Now?

Has anyone one else noticed the post us getting worst I paid £1.25 to send a birthday card on Monday 9 am to my mum and my mums still not got it!
I live in Brighton and have been told they are so short staffed with sickness that they are delivering once a week, l can collect my post from the sorting office, however if they have large packages or parcels a Royal Mail van will deliver... ( but only the parcel, no letters) it's crazy
We've had issues with our post for ages. Sometimes our mail arrives quickly, other times you are waiting ages, weeks even for stuff to arrive. Parcels always arrive but letters can be sporadic. My mum lives a half hour drive from us, she posted something that accidentally went to her house, it took 3 weeks to arrive. We were told we could go to the sorting office to collect things, but it is only open till from 8am to 10am Monday to Friday and until 12pm on Saturday.
rowley1943 it's only been in the last couple of months that the mail has gone done hill where we are.
I was supposed to have a parcel collected, was waiting the whole day. Then I get sorry we missed you email. Checked my cameras and realised they never even came.
The level of service when it comes to Royal Mail delivering letters is outrageous considering the cost of a stamp.
Royal mal has been going downhill for quite some time now, our post is very sketchy. Our postman was sick for a while and we didn't get post for weeks but could go to the mail office to collect. It's still hit and miss when we get it now, seems to be all over the country.
rowley1943 It cost £2.75 just for the letter to be signed for and it still hasn't arrived
Its like everything else there's no staff. Brexit a lot of people that would have done these jobs left and no one replaced them.
Is terrible. I just got a letter for an appointment with which I missed as royal mail just delivered it
Don’t get me started with Royal Mail as I have talked about them weeks ago on someone else’s post. They are a rip off and they lose your stuff and they are so unreliable. When they do deliver it is late afternoon, it is where I live. Growing up they would deliver 6ish to 7:30 at the latest. Don’t things change. I would rate them -0 stars.
They're pretty rubbish here too. We get about 2 deliveries a week at the moment. I had a parcel sent on Saturday with 48 hour delivery that's only just arrived.
I used to all but tell the time by the post falling on the mat at regular intervals. Now it is arrives at random times and often in bulk packages.I have a friend who was a postie for over twenty years and despairs at the present service. They are being sold down the river by the competing companies and home delivery services as well.
Yes I've noticed. Think my local office is short staffed. Big parcels are delivered ok. But everything else that's delivered by post person takes awhile. Been getting someone doing the route once a week as the postman we had seems to have stopped doing this route or maybe stopped working for Royal Mail altogether. It has got better recently as got a new postman so come about ever day. Hopefully this postman stays.
Yes I'm in Somerset, our postie's are currently working 3-5 days behind on normal post and 7-10days behind on Thier parcel deliveries, my van postie has come the last 2 Sundays with my parcels, Sundays!!! Couldn't believe it the wen he knocked the door, he said they are desperately trying to catch up before the Christmas post really hits
Absolutely we go day's in our village without even seeing a postie. Really don't get it , they are charging enough
Our post is later than ever, seems to have been since September. Like you we were expecting birthday cards to be delivered with first class stamps on them yet it took 10 days before one arrived.
Second class is taking around 7 days in our area, but deliveries in general are taking much longer than normal
I remember when we had two deliveries a day, I’m lucky if I get one. I’m sure they bundle mine with an elastic band and then deliver in bulk.
