Single Use Plastic Cutlery and Containers
Ask a Question
Although I agree overall with saving the planet, what are now businesses to do with all the stock? If it can no longer legally be used for this purpose all that new stock - goes to landfill!? Isn’t that more polluting and wasteful? Are we going back to newspaper for our fish n chips??
You would hope that any current stock is allowed to be sold cause what you say about the wastage is totally true.
I agree if its already there why waste something decent and still contribute to the issue
You would hope the plastic can be used. Personally I'm glad it's been banned. As for getting take away reckon it's going to be recyclable stuff including newspapers and encouraging people to bring your own containers which is amazing and love but be a pain if you're out for the night and want chips and kebab on the way home
Such changes would likely be rolled out slowly so unlikely that existing products would go straight to landfill. However there are definitely sustainable alternatives and it is about time we adopt more sustainable practices.
it is too late to ban single use plastic. Many countries were banned single plastic many years before
