Sports Direct really seem to dislike affiliate links and paying for them and when you use a cashback site like Topcashback even if you met their terms and conditions they rarely pay out or pay out at a much lower rate. It's just the way they are. They keep a tight control of their costs. I've had a few huge bargains from Sports Direct and some very decent trainers for not a lot of money so I'm not complaining just they are very clever at controlling their costs. Perhaps Latestdeals has no problem getting their affiliate income but as a consumer I have very little luck.

BonzoBanana yeah that makes sense and tbh can’t complain because it is one of the cheaper sports shops but the low cost does come at a price. There’s never enough staff in store, their customer service is poor etc

jms19 I've never had to return anything to Sports Direct but I have seen a frustrated customer being told he can only have store credit which he was upset about. On hotukdeals someone bought a bicycle and sports direct sent a different model which was lower in the range which I thought was terrible. You'd think it was an accident but the way Sports Direct acted to the customer was that is what he should have got, no apologies. Saying that I've been in retail and seen so many disgusting customers almost to the point of mental illness, no fairness, no honesty and a vile attitude and I haven't been in retail for decades and it seems far worse now as a spectator so I try to be fair to both sides. I wouldn't assume that customer having a heated debate in Sports Direct who was offered store credit was in the right.

BonzoBanana yeah I’m aware of the store credit instead of refund thing which i think is fair if the customer wants to return an item out of choice. However I did return something once which was faulty and was still only offered store credit which I didn’t think was fair but it was only like £6 so i didn’t argue the toss.

BonzoBanana Surely, if the item was faulty, they have to refund you, not just give store credit? Isn't that the law?

Sports Direct also tell customers that have bought online that they have to pay the postage to return faulty items, this is not the case.

Bunch of bandits.

TheChimp I'm certainly not here to defend Sports Direct their customer service can be pretty terrible. I have bought a fair few things from them. I bought a bike that was missing pedals if I remember rightly many years ago and they did send them but they acted like they were doing me a favour at the time where as most shops would have apologised for the issue. Still I've had quite a few bargains from them.
