Supermarket Branded Cereal

Branded who's rich enough for branded these days? most own brands are just as good and there over half the price

Branded is best for weetabix, cornflakes and sugarpuffs for me but then again l haven't had cereal for years.

I always bought branded bran flakes but on one order the shop substituted their own which were half the price. I really couldn’t taste much difference so I now order Waitrose own.

I agree with Weetabix .. though Lidl's one is delicious.

Only eat branded Cheerios. No one else can match them. Everything else is own brand

I purchased Tesco's own branded weetabix to save money, I actually wasted money, they ended up in the dustbin.

I think that most supermarkets own brand cereal are good enough. There are certain ones that are better if branded but not many. It depends on which supermarket they are from too….like most foods, some supermarkets are better than others.

Nestle Shreddies were £3.50 In Tesco Yesterday.

Own brank "Malted Wheats" were 95p.

I think i mentioned this a while back on the same subject, my sister worked for a packing and distribution cereal centre many years ago , she told me all the major brands of cereal used the same cereals packed here, this included the budget brands

The odd name like marks and spencer would add a few more nuts and raisins in theirs but in general the only difference in the cereals was the name

it is a bit hit and miss but quite often the unbranded versions are just as good but will stick to Heinz for Baked beans and salad cream! some products are better than others!

On certain things I will not compromise because I have tried the home brand & it's not as good...

I've brought supermarket brands for years. I buy own brands for ass much as possible

I agree about the wheetabix, the supermarket own versions are noticeably different. I usually buy from Aldi or Lidl own range and they are good enough for me.

I usually always buy branded but I bought weetabix out aldi as I have them everyday at work and I must say they were absolutely lovely really enjoyed them

Always try to buy the branded if I can, usually stock up when on when on offer. Occasionally try supermarket own but never find it quite as good, a few week ago I bought Sainsbury's Strawberry & White Chocolate Crisp, it's like sawdust, horrible stuff, ended up in the bin total waste of money.

The Aldi cereals are just as good as the big branded versions, and a fraction of the price.

I have no issue with Waitrose branded cereals. We buy these most of the time but I have had some really cheap cornflakes which we had to give to the chickens.

The only cereal I've had that I didn't like that much is the shop brand cornflakes and crunchy nut cornflakes. Often they are less crunchy and smaller pieces. The same cornflakes seem to appear in a lot of places too. I've bought it from Aldi, Lidls, Coop and Waitrose. However bran flakes always seems nice where ever you buy it. My favourite cereal is oat clusters and they always seem pretty nice too. I hate the ultra sugary cereals so to be perfectly honest a lot of Nestle cereals are unacceptable to me despite their high price.
