Are You Taking Your Kids Trick or Treating?
Ask a Question
Will you be taking your kids Trick or Treating?
There's always a bit of a debate around this topic and whether it's 'okay' to take them, even though in some other places like America, it's very much the norm.
Yes I will be taking them and dressing up myself. We do only knock on doors where people have decorations for Halloween
Mine are all grown up and my family don't stay near for my grankids to come I use to go to there's but now I finish to late but I get loads of kids coming to mine I do the garden up and make up 100 bags and they all go I love seeing all the kids come round
No I won't be taking him and I really hope that no one comes to my door either. I don't like Halloween and don't celebrate it.
MrsCraig People generally only knock on doors with decorations or pumpkins
SamGoodship not always though. I never decorate for Halloween yet I've had people knock on our door.
No, we are not taking them, i don't think my teenager would tag along now my son is not bothered, I think we will do a movie night instead and get some nibbles x
I love Halloween, but I don't have any children, and my nieces and nephews are all grown up, I don't like to miss out so every year, for about 15 years now, we Do set up in the front garden for the local kiddy's completed with home grown giant pumpkins, we are the first house they all come to the kids get sweets of course and the adults get some giant pumpkin seeds,
slightfoot omg thats absolutely huge I have never seen a pumkin as big lol good for you yes its great seeing them all they all come to me because I always make a effort to put decorations up I bought about 10 different colours and sizes of Pumpkin even during covid I put a small tent up with all the bags and a box of crisp with a big notice to just help themselves but no many came one year hope you have a lovely Halloween
SamGoodship it's great, I had one dad come back the following year with photos at the ready of the pumpkin he had grown from our seeds, he was soo pleased, and the kids had got involved aswell with watering ect, ***
I have a 15 year old son and a 19 year old daughter, so I think not. Nobody wants to answer the door at night anymore, plus the cost of living crisis
Yes I take them every year but it's quite big thing in our neighbour hood and we only knock on doors with lit pumpkins
Oh definitely! They’ve got their costumes ready and their little buckets… we all enjoy it while they’re young. My grandkids are 7 and 3 so we go as a family
Living crisis or not, Halloween, Christmas or any holiday is worth making an effort or our kids and grandkids will have nothing to celebrate. If you don't go out...create a Halloween (easter) hunt with chocolate pumpkins or a Halloween movie/music quiz for teens/adults to get that family vibe going. Have a great time all
TamaraKnight i agree, it doesn't have to be expensive, when I was little mom wud put a binbag on me, make a broom from some twigs, hey presto a witch and my brother was always a white sheeted ghost, job done, off we went to knock on half a dozen folk on our street, with me mom looking on from our doorstep, and we didn't get loads of expensive Halloween themed sweets it was usually just bits that people had in there cupboards a penguin bar, bag of crisps, orange, if we were really lucky-some pennys from peoples change jars, lol
My children are all adults now but I as I live in a Gore I used to give the sweets to my elderly neighbours and my children would go and knock and collect them back. They were happy to do this and the children came back with more than i gave out. This way I knew my children were safe knocking at the doors.
