Do You Think There Should Be a BGT Juniors?

Other

This year more than others there seems to have been so many more children on BGT. Most of them have been brilliant but I feel that they often take away from the adults as they inevitably get the cute vote.

Personally I feel there should be a separate show for the under 16s with a winner from each.

I know lots of people don't like BGT but it could run concurrently and at least the talented adults wouldn't feel pushed aside by the kids.

What would we do with the groups? Those that contain children and adults?

Surely the 4 year olds would still beat the 15 year old boys that have hit puberty for the cute/adorable vote?

I don't know how anyone walks out on that stage, let alone some of the little ones and I hope everyone gets the support they need. Rejection can be hard to take with one person, let alone a whole room and nation.

I personally like it the way it is, not that I'm an avid viewer.

With similar shows that have junior and adult versions, I very rarely watch the junior versions.

Leannexxx lol that's why I said to run concurrently. They choose winners from 10 to 16 then winners from 16 plus so there would only be one extra show at the end.

I respect everyone's opinion but although my taste is usually for intelligent shows/dramas/films etc I do think BGT unearths some great acts. I recently went to see Collabro in concert and it was best I had ever seen, they were winners in 2014.

We spend so much time telling kids its the taking part that counts all this does is single out the talent from the untalented and quite possible dash some young persons dreams and affect them later on in life

matumkokehte123 I hate to sound cruel or unsympathetic but lots of quite bad kids acts are put through at the expense of far more talented ones and that must be very confusing. One such act even got a golden buzzer which I felt was plainly virtue signalling on the part of the judge.

Although I am not commenting on the content of my original topic, I have to say I have been Maxwell to win since seeing his initial audition. I rarely meet or know anyone who is an opera lover and yet operatic singers always do extremely well on BGT so the great British public must have a soft spot for it.....Jonathan and charlotte, Paul Potts etc.

I so want Maxwell to win and will be so upset if a child ousts him out of top spot.

Without sounding completely rude lets say there are 5 kids competing 4 are amazingly talented but the fifth has a problem which is visible to the public most people and judges will lean towards the fifth child for support and sympathy whilst the other 4 could have issues which we cant see we now tell them they are not good enough the fifth person goes through and then decides to abandon that career we have now left kids who had a bright future doubting themselves and walking away with negative thoughts

matumkokehte123 You are right, and it is hard to make that point without being un-pc. The downs syndrome dance troupe were not at all good but they got a golden buzzer from David, very unfair on the other kids who may or may not have hidden disabilities.

i dont think there should be kids in BGT. I think kids that go into fame too early miss out on normal childhoods.

SaveMeSunday yes that's an even better solution, over 16s only would probably be best.

It took me a while to realise that BGT stood for Britain's Got Talent, I have mixed emotions about a junior version, as whilst lots of children have talent it's a lot of pressure.

beccatavender I agree, that is why I answered in the affirmative to SaveMeSunday, there is no need for kids to get fame so young.

beccatavender I totally agree with and many children can not cope with the pressure. The amount of stories you hear out child actors and their problems is unreal. Let them be children.

I never watch Live TV because most of it is just reality garbage crap either some singing show, food show, who's the fattest, some jungle show (now with Nigel Farage which ironically that just made his reputation go down the toilet lol), etc.

But I digress, as long as people keep watching crap they'll keep making it. It's like those chicken shops at every corner in the U.K (most definitely not very hygienic though for the low price I guess its customers don't care either).

TheChimp I love chicken but would never set foot in one of those chicken shops PhilipMarc mentions. I won't even buy KFC anymore and I love a zinger burger!😋
