Books. Can be new, old, read once, loved or original or one they wanted or one you enjoyed. Can be passed along or borrowed.

It all depends on who the gifts are for, sometimes it's practical gifts or sometimes it could be a treat gift, really depends on the person i'm buying for an how well I know them.

I giving useful stuff like socks and say a mug. Gifts would have to be new or they can be handmade.

I think it all depends on the recipient, I buy/give what I think they will enjoy or use. I don't think it's matters if it's old or new as long as it's been chosen with care and thought.

I buy stuff I know they need and will use. It depends who I'm buying for as to what I'm buying. For friends kids it will be practical things like clothes and will happily buy 2nd hand. If its a family member a voucher for somewhere they love. Totally depends on who it is for.

I think about the person I am buying for. What are their interests and what do they normally use that you know about them?

Things that are useful that I know the person wants/needs/will use. Or something like an experience. I especially try not to buy things for the sake of it, and try not to just buy ‘stuff’, it’s wasteful, not environmentally friendly and can be awkward when you end up with ‘stuff’ that you don’t want and don’t know what to do with.

I’ve baked things for people in the past, especially at Christmas. For family members birthdays I will often offer either a home cooked meal or a meal out or a takeaway.

I love a useful gift as I feel it’s worth me. Things like flowers just die in a few weeks

I tend to give money to my children these days now they’ve flown the nest. They can enjoy an holiday or buy things for their home. Everyone else gets a small gift but has to be something I like In case I change my mind and see something else 😂

Yeah it all depends on who you're gifting to I like to give them something personalised or something to do with a hobby they have, I think it shows you know them well and if you don't know the person well then I'd definitely get something practical that any one in general would use

Things that match the person i.e. style, hobbies, interests. A friend loves jigsaw like me so I get her a new one each xmas. Another is in to crafts so I get her something craft related etc. The grandkids usually get a one for all gift card or cash, buying for them is the most difficult.

Make up my own gifts out of some branded products that I have tried & tested so I know they are excellent

Something that I know the recipient will like, hopefully, I make friends and family hampers of homemade jams and chutneys for Christmas, but I have 2 friends who don't jam or chutney, so they get booze and a jar of pickled eggs instead

slightfoot I’ve never tried a pickled egg but my mother used to occasionally get one with fish and chips.

It all depends on the person for me. If buying clothes for gifts I like to buy new incase I get the wrong size and they can change

I does depend on the recipient, we like to get our best friends unique presents and they are always agreeably shocked & surprised, you can see it in their faces. I'd much rather give a present than receive one.
