Works much better in combination with student ID unlike Asda which gives you 10 % discount with Blue Light card . Hardly any discount without student discount. They then send you offers for their expensive car and house insurance giving you £50 vouchers for buying food from them if you buy their expensive car or house insurance.
They have so many reduced to clear fruit s & vegetables in the store near me these days for which I don't need any membership. Also their green bags which can be used in the recycling food waste bin are excellent.
Always a few weekly deals worth having on the app. Also got a Xmas game on at the minute I won £5 off next shop so worth a go
Co-op are the community of shops and deserve all the support we can give them and in return we take advantage of their amazing offers
It's well worth signing up to this, get some good offers in the weekly deals through the app
This is a fab deal from The Co-Op. Great find and good savings. Definitely going to have a look. Thank you for sharing!
Its a very good savings being a member at The Co-Op. What a great finding. Thanks for sharing this fab deal!
Definitely gonna have to check this out. Got a coop at the top of my road and often pop in on way home from work for some bits and bobs! Coop do a lot of community support as well
I’ve been a member for a while but only tried to use my money off coupons the other day in my local store. I was told I couldn’t use them in that particular store because they were a “Southern Co-op”.
I had no idea there were different franchises as there wasn’t any signage. Pretty disappointing.
snoogans888 I'm a member of both Northern and Southern Co-op. The blue card is for the Northern store and the white and orange card is for the Southern store. I shop in both stores and I find you get much better offers in the Southern Co-op. Hope this helps the members on here.
Sugarbabe maybe I’ll sign up to the Southern one then if you say the offers are good.
It's well worth being a member at The Co-Op and very good savings. Thank you for sharing this great deal with us!
I've got a co-op membership and I've used it a couple of times it's it's good if you need to shot at the co-op all the time but if you don't he's not worth it so like if we need something just like a boxer tea bags a pint of milk or bag of sugar or cat food something for lunch you can nip in there and you get points for it it's brilliant
I’ve enjoyed using my membership the last few years, but disappointed the student discount no longer applies. There are still bargain to be had, albeit a bit random - got an additional 10p off some mushrooms that were already reduced to 28p today (I find they don’t advertise their promotions very well)
Going to join co op membership now. Will see the offers and utilise. Thank you so much for posting
Is quite a handy membership card...however not like others you only get points for own brand buys.
Will check this out I have a co-op card but not used it for a while, need to check out there bargains, every little helps Thank you for sharing this deal
I'd say definitely join, it can be very useful but fir Northern Ireland people, I've never had free delivery, a lot of the offers are not available here and there is no delivery within the hour as advertised, it is normally at least 2 hours but usually 3 or 4 hours.
Also the last 5 products for £6 was not available in NI although they usually are. I emailed Co-op to ask why and still waiting on a reply.
It's definitely worth joining. You get to choose to redeem 2 offers per week. You can also get money off coupons sometimes through the post.
Really wish Latest Deals would stop plugging Co-Op!! You are supposed to be helping people save money not waste it!
Their prices are the most expensive of all supermarkets and the quality of their products is bad too. Especially the fresh fruit and vegetables which are always scabby and rotten.
Fatabelly Well said ! Their full price items are so expensive that no one buys it . So I just go to their reduced to clear items where food is still good to eat on the day of purchase. I wish the supermarkets used some system which would automatically reduce the prices as the expiry date came near to reduce food waste.
I have been a member for years now. Very good for their special offers but very expensive for other things
Co-op 2p in the pound cashback offer for members is being withdrawn from next week in favour of more members only prices, similar to Tesco,Sainsburys etc.
brightonlisa52 The "Co-op Membership" will continue, but basically I believe all members will stop earning 2p per £1 spent on Co-op products. Members have until 31st December 2024 to spend or donate their reward balance. However as I understand it you'll still be able to select a community to receive 'funding' based on your spend on Co-op products. Members will still receive the usual offers e.g.: money off certain items in store (e.g.: I often receive offers for 50p off of Mountain Dew drinks or 50p off of Starbucks products); but Co-op will be going further with members-only pricing on even more products. "A Co-op spokeswoman told This is Money that its new focus on member prices will deliver a '90 per cent increase on rewards' compared with its previous mechanism.".
This article, where the above quote is from, should cover everything about this change: thisismoney .co.uk/money/bills/article-12970239/Co-op-scraps-cashback-loyalty-card-favour-member-prices.html (you'll have to remove the space before .co.uk )
Hope this helps.
In my opinion you shouldn't need to join an app to get a discount, neither should you have to pay for the privilege even if it is £1. After all you've just given your details for free, your name, your email
mumstheword26 still better than stores like very.com/ and studio who want to know everything about you when you register so they can sell you 'buy now pay later', at very expensive rates even if you don't want BNPL and klarna payment options which get selected on certain websites by default. There are so many 0% purchase credit cards still there with 21months internet free on purchases, but these sites offer the same at very expensive rates .
The Coop card is about to change and you'll no longer get points for every £ you spend. Read their app or website for full details. Members who have cash built up on their cards are being asked to swap points for shopping as soon as possible!
I joined a while ago and I recently received an email stating I’ve got £3 discount to use next time I scan my card , which is great as I hardly use it . The only reason I hardly use it is there isn’t a Co-op near me and I do my online shopping at another store.
Thanks for sharing
I jojned today and I can already see how I can earn my £1 membership fee back in the little 50p off offers which I can choose 2 of per week - and seem to be pretty every day things like milk and bakery items. Seems like great value to me!
