M&S Sparks Card: How Does The Reward Scheme Work?
If you shop at Marks & Spencer you should have a Sparks Card. They’re free to use and provide a range of benefits. In this guide we’ll be breaking down their benefits, how to get an M&S Sparks card, and answering any other questions you may have.
What is an M&S Sparks Card?
Sparks card is Marks and Spencer’s loyalty card. So, just as Sainsbury’s has Nectar Card and Tesco has Clubcard, Marks and Spencers has Sparks.
It is free to become a Sparks member, and anyone can do it. If you shop at M&S it’s definitely worth signing up, as you’ll earn rewards on your shopping.
How to earn Sparks?
When you shop at Marks & Spencer you earn Sparks. These are points and once you’ve earned enough you get rewards. It’s similar to earning Nectar points at Sainsbury’s or Advantage points at Boots.
Everytime you shop at M&S you’ll earn 10 sparks, and then for every £1 you spend you earn 10 more. If you review a product on the Marks & Spencer website you’ll earn 25, and you’ll earn 50 every time you shwop:
The more you shop, the more Sparks you’ll earn, and this means you’ll get exclusive offers and rewards based on your shopping habits.
What are Sparks rewards?
There are perks when you have a Marks and Spencer Sparks card.
1. Personalised offers
Once you start shopping with Sparks, you’ll get personalised Sparks card offers based on your shopping habits. This is great as it means you can save on things you’d be buying anyway.
You may be sent vouchers in the post. These could be offers on food, clothing or homeware. You may also get offers in your Sparks account online. You need to activate these to your card, and then they will be applied to eligible purchases the next time you shop.
2. Treats
If you’re a Sparks Card holder, you’ll also be eligible for weekly prizes, and every week one Sparks customer will get their weekly shop for free.
Note - We believe in M&S Food stores, it is one Sparks customer per shop. However, we have not been able to confirm this.
Sparks customers are also often rewarded with freebies, for example a free bag of Percy Pigs.
3. Priority access
Once you’ve collected 3,000 Sparks, you’ll get early access to the new products, and when you’ve collected 5,000 you’ll get early access to the M&S sale online.
The benefit of this is that you can nab the best bargains in your size before others.
4. Charity Donations
If you have a Sparks Card, every time you shop either in store or online, M&S will donate to the charity of your choice.
5. Scan and shop
Another major perk of having a Sparks account is their scan and shop feature. This means you can use your phone to scan items as you shop, then pay for your food shop via the M&S app.
This is handy as it means you'll skip the queues, you just need to make sure you are a Sparks member and have the M&S app downloaded on your phone. It only works on a food shop.
To use scan and shop, you need to open the M&S app on your phone, tap the 'more' button, start shopping and scan the barcode for each item as you go and put the items in a bag as you go. When you've got everything you need, you can pay through Apple Pay, Google Pay or using your card in the app. You don't need to visit the till or queue at all, so it's a handy one for time saving.
How to get a Sparks Card
You can sign up to Sparks online here. All you need to do is enter your email address to get started.

You should be able to see your digital Sparks card, which you can scan everytime you shop at M&S, either online or in store.
When you sign into your account, you can see the my Sparks offers section. This includes perks such as a free bag of Percy Pigs, 10% off homeware, and £5 off a £40 food shop. NOTE: These offers are examples and you may receive different ones when you sign up.
FAQs
Leadhall Hey! 'Sparks' are what M&S call their version of points. Unlike some supermarkets you don't get money off for those points, but the more you earn, the more rewards you can unlock, for example when you have 5,000 sparks you'll get early access to the M&S sale. As a Sparks member you'll also get personalised offers and vouchers so you can save on your shopping. Hope that helps
