Milan, in northern Italy, has emerged as an especially cheap holiday option thanks to deals from Ryanair and easyJet, making it the perfect choice for that half term holiday.

Loads of flights were going for £33, and they were also decent departure times. You can choose from late morning or early evening, making it easy to plan your day and get to the hotel in plenty of time. Plus, you can schedule a bargain-friendly holiday to Europe with the kids over half-term - or surprise your loved one with a three-day getaway in October.
