Now that summer is over and we’re settling back into our school and work routines, many of us may be considering planning an autumn or winter break so we have a holiday to look forward to. However, with the rising price of living, it can be easy to assume flights will also be skyrocketing.

The good news is that there are still some great deals to be found - and one destination in particular can be visited for as little as £20 per ticket any time between now and Christmas. Milan, in northern Italy, has emerged as an especially cheap holiday option thanks to deals from Ryanair and easyJet, making it the perfect choice for that half term holiday.

Travel Expert Tom Church from LatestDeals.co.uk said: ‘Despite the rising price of living, it’s nice to see that budget airlines are keeping the prices of their flights consistent over the autumn and winter periods. This means we don’t have to worry about taking time off work for a specific set of dates to avoid paying £100s more in travel costs - as there are always deals to be found, which I reveal for you below.’

London to Milan for £20 with Ryanair

‘If you can get to London on the cheap or you live nearby, there are some great flight deals thanks to Ryanair. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there are consistent prices between the end of September and the beginning of December. Whether you want a classic week-long break or a weekend getaway for you and a loved one, there are plenty of options. These are just some of the dates I pulled, but there are many more available.

‘The flight only takes a few hours and luckily Milan is a great place to visit. There are all kinds of stunning architecture and classy cocktails which were invented in this stylish city. Plus, you get to avoid the touristy vibes of other popular destinations, such as Rome.’

Manchester to Milan for £33 with EasyJet

‘If you’re based up North, you don’t need to feel left out or worry about making the trip down to the capital to get a good bargain, as there are plenty to be found in Manchester. Milan is also a top destination to go to throughout the autumn and winter months, and I saw another price trend - this time with EasyJet. Loads of flights were going for £33, and they were also decent departure times. You can choose from late morning or early evening, making it easy to plan your day and get to the hotel in plenty of time. Plus, you can schedule a bargain-friendly holiday to Europe with the kids over half-term - or surprise your loved one with a three-day getaway in October.

‘There are also loads of £34 flights going in the last few weeks of November from Manchester. I love making the most of cheaper prices during this time of year, packing a coat in my carry-on luggage and heading straight into a new city once my plane lands.’

Bristol to Milan for £34 - Save Nearly £200

‘Bristolians can head to Bristol Airport over the coming weeks for a fraction of the price they could be paying. I found a great flight with Ryanair for a £34 round-trip ticket. If you depart just a day later, prices could go up to a whopping £202!’

Newcastle to Milan for £33 - Save £100
