John Lewis Launches New Christmas Advert And It Will Make You Cry

The British retailer John Lewis has unveiled their 2023 Christmas advertisement, which is steeped in the tradition of kicking off the holiday season. This year, they present "Snapper, the Perfect Tree," a narrative that shifts from their typically emotional stories to a more light-hearted and amusing approach.

The story is an uplifting one about a young boy, named Alfie, who embarks on a grow-your-own Christmas tree adventure, nurturing a plant he believes will become the perfect Christmas tree. This venture, however, takes a whimsical turn when the plant grows into a playful Venus flytrap named Snapper, deviating from the expected sentimental journey of previous years.

Accompanying the visual feast is a musical score by the Italian electro-pop duo Le Feste Antonacci. They bring to life Andrea’s song "Festa," which translates to 'celebration,' encapsulating the joy and festivity the advert aims to spread.

John Lewis’s Christmas adverts have become a cultural phenomenon in the UK, often marking the start of the holiday season for many. With the release of their advert, John Lewis continues this tradition, though this year they've tossed in a curveball, replacing the typical emotional pull with a narrative that is as endearing as it is amusing.

Not sure about this one it’s not your typical Christmas advert but at least it’s not a sad one.

bickerstaffamy exactly, this is our country born and raised and yet everyone that is trying to make changes we’re never born or raised here, if they don’t like our traditions then they either need to keep quiet or jog on!!! Why are we the ones that have to back down!!! and yet of we tried doing it in their home countries etc - good god can you imagine 🙄

Awful advert, the worst I've seen. Give us normal traditional themes. This is woke.

I'm dumbstruck. John Lewis Christmas adverts are usually lovely adverts . This is about a Venus flytrap that eats insects. Disappointed by John Lewis 😕. Wheres our beautiful traditional Christmas 🎄 tree

Very strange for a Christmas video. Don’t think this will win any awards!

only thing I like is my favourite singer Andrea Borcelli
