Train tickets in the UK are notoriously expensive - but a flash sale from Northern Railways means you can bag advance train tickets for just 10p.
There’s a long list of stations offering flash sale tickets, including Leeds, Manchester Piccadilly and Nottingham, and there are over 80,000 available for travel in September.
If 10p isn’t quite cheap enough, tickets for kids aged up to 15 years old are just 5p.
Promotional material from Northern Railways reads: “From 19 August, we’re selling Advance train tickets for just 10p. Nope, that’s not a typo, that’s 10p train tickets! And we’ve got over 80,000 available for travel in September. Plus, kids travel half price so your little ones can go for the very little price of just 5p.”

Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented: “10p train tickets! I can't believe my eyes! I don't think I've ever seen UK train tickets so cheap. It's practically free and the 10p is probably just to cover the transaction cost of booking the ticket. If you live in any of the locations and can get on board this is a brilliant opportunity to save.”
Wendy Simpson, a member of the site said, "Played around with days and stations and got Blackpool South to Manchester Piccadilly 10p, and Manchester Oxford Road to Blackpool North10p. So day trip to Manchester 20p return each roll on 9th September."
Sandra Ward said, "Omg not sure what the catch is but booked a return journey for 20p per person, who does like a bargain and an adventure."
However, many people struggled to find tickets at the discounted price and vented frustration.
Becca2580 wrote, "Is this a joke? I've put in a search several times and just states the full price when it takes me to the next page"
Shelley Bates wrote, "How do you actually find 10p tickets, its saying from 10p but every search I try is then coming up at £40-£60."
