Although no official sale has been announced, prices are being slashed and savvy shoppers can find some great deals.
Bargain hunters have made the most of the sale, by finding hundreds of pounds worth of discount on offer at the stores.
One deal finder managed to save a massive £730 in the sales.
Elaine Todd found the huge savings in the Glasgow Mothercare, spending just £77 and getting £807 worth of kids clothing and accessories from the stores.
Some of the deals included dresses reduced from £52 to £2, and a nappy bag down from £65 to £20.
The store isn’t even one of the ones closing down, Elaine said it was just down to good timing that she was in the store when the deals were being put out.
Another shopper managed to find some big reductions on breastfeeding starter kits.
Sophie Jackson got three of the kits of just £6, when the original cost would have been £72, as they are £24 each when not in the sale.
She said, “Normally, just three bottles are £13, but each one of these kits comes with 2 bottles, 12 breast pads, 1 teat nipple cream, and 5 freezer bags, so it’s a great deal really.”
The deal was found in Birkenhead Mothercare, which is not one of the ones that is planned to close.
Mothercare has been working to slim down the total number of UK stores to between 80 and 100, down from the current 143, and has already shut down several locations as part of this plan, and these stores also have some huge closing down bargains.
Another bargain hunter spotted loads of kids clothing and accessories reduced to just £1 or 50p.
Lynne Anderson spotted the discounts in the Bangor branch of Mothercare, where girls clothing in a range of sizes were all on sale for a fraction of the original price.
The bargains included four pairs of wellies, three hats, and packs of socks, that came to just £17 in total.
