Supermarket Christmas Period Opening Times Revealed

With Christmas Eve upon us, it's crucial to know the opening hours of your go-to supermarkets. Whether you're grabbing last-minute essentials or stocking up for a festive feast, timing is everything. Here's a rundown of the major supermarkets' Christmas Eve hours:

Aldi: Open from 9:30 am to 4 pm. Remember, it's closed on December 25th and 26th, so plan accordingly.

Lidl: A bit more flexible, opening at 7 am and closing at 6 pm. They're also closed on December 25th but open on December 26th from 10 am to 6 pm.

Asda: For the early birds, they open at 6 am and close at 7 pm. Asda follows the trend of being closed on Christmas Day but opens on Boxing Day from 9 am to 6 pm.

Tesco: Here’s where it gets a bit tricky. Superstores open at 7 am and close at 6 pm, while Express and Extra stores extend hours from 6 am to 10 pm. Both formats are closed on Christmas Day, but open on December 26th - Superstores from 9 am to 6 pm, Express and Extra stores from 9 am to 7 pm.

Sainsbury's: Offering extended hours from 7 am to 9 pm. They too will close their doors on Christmas Day but are back on December 26th from 9 am to 9 pm.

Morrisons: Joining the early opener club at 6 am, they'll shut at 6 pm. Closed on December 25th, they reopen on Boxing Day from 9 am to 6 pm.

Waitrose: Opening at 7 am and closing at 6 pm, they remain closed both on December 25th and 26th.

M&S: Another early starter at 6 am, closing at 6 pm. They're also closed on December 25th and 26th.

Co-op: Offering a window from 6 am to 8 pm. Closed on Christmas Day, but open on Boxing Day from 9 am to 7 pm.

Iceland: Operating from 8 am to 5 pm. Like many others, it's closed on December 25th and 26th.

karenb124 with it being Christmas, I think that there are exceptions. It’s always worth checking with individual stores over the next few dats, though.
