- Tesco has expanded its fleet and delivery slots to meet high Christmas demand
Tesco is opening its Christmas delivery slots to all customers tomorrow at 6am, allowing shoppers to book in advance for the busy festive season. While delivery pass holders received early access last week, many experienced long queues and delays. Delivery pass plans range from £4.99 for off-peak to £7.99 for anytime options, which offer priority access to high-demand slots.
To cater to the holiday rush, Tesco has added 60 delivery vans and thousands of extra delivery slots, including last-minute spots on Christmas Eve via its rapid Whoosh service. Tom Denyard, Managing Director of Tesco Online, encouraged customers to book early, noting that signing up for a Delivery Saver plan can save up to £176 annually on fees.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, “Booking ahead can be a game-changer for a stress-free Christmas. With extra vans and slots, Tesco is making it easier to secure delivery, but demand will still be high – so set your alarm!"
