In a recent video, popular YouTuber Lara Jarvis shared her first experience shopping at Costco. In the video, she takes her viewers along as she explores the warehouse store for the first time.
"I'm going for the very first time somewhere that I know you guys absolutely love and I've heard lots about and I feel like it's a really good way of buying in bulk and saving money," Jarvis explains at the beginning of the video. "I'm going to Costco!"
Jarvis explains that she is visiting Costco to buy cakes and other items for her children's birthday parties. She is excited to see what the store has to offer, as she has heard many good things about it.
Upon arriving at Costco, Jarvis is surprised to find that the store sells more than just food. "I've just been told that they do TVs in here, not just food," she says. "I thought it was just gonna be a food [store]." She discovers that they also sell washing machines, fridge freezers, and even fuel. She notes that the diesel is only £1.39 per liter, which is significantly cheaper than at normal petrol stations.
As she explores the store, Jarvis is amazed by the variety of items available. She finds everything from giant TVs and washing machines to flowers and wine fridges. She even spots gold bars for sale. "It's like a bit of an Aldi on steroids," she remarks.
Jarvis is particularly impressed by the cakes available at Costco. She purchases a football cake for her son George and a chocolate fudge cake for her son Henry. Both cakes are large and reasonably priced, with the football cake costing £15 and the chocolate fudge cake costing £11.
In addition to the cakes, Jarvis also purchases chicken nuggets, flowers, cookies, apple juice, kettle crisps, and non-bio fairy washing powder. She notes that some items are cheaper at Costco than at normal supermarkets, but cautions viewers to be careful not to overspend.
"Be careful if you don't want to overspend because I think you could easily overspend," she advises. "Just go in maybe with a budget or what you want to buy and try not to stray from it."
Overall, Jarvis enjoys her first trip to Costco and is impressed by the variety of items available. "My first experience of Costco was quite a positive one," she says. "I was quite overwhelmed with it all."
Tom Church, Co-Founder of money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk, commented on shopping at Costco: "Costco can be a great place to save money on bulk purchases, but it's important to be mindful of your spending. Not everything at Costco is cheaper than at normal supermarkets, so it's a good idea to compare prices before making a purchase."
