Had the 5p Plastic Bag Charge Changed the Way You Shop?

Do you buy less if you didn't bring a bag? Do you always remember to bring a reusable bag?
I always have some sort of reusable bag in my backpack now.
I've never paid for a 5p bag anyway lol.. I use the bags for life/canvas type bags and I'm usually pretty good at remembering to take a few out with me. 
The 5p plastic bag charge has not changed the amount of items I buy from a supermarket as I would bring my own bags most of the time but now I bring bags every time I go to the supermarket.
Do you all think that the 5p charge should have been bought in sooner. I do. It would have prompted more people to bring their own bags and maybe we could've had some tiny impact on the amount of plastic around
I have a load of bags which have accumulated over the years, yet I keep forgetting to use them. Although I do use a shopping trolley for my main weekly shop.
You can get really good ones that fold up really small and can just leave them in the bottom of the bag you use most or in the car so you have them nearby when you're out and about.
I always have bags for life in the car and I am pretty good at remembering them. I wouldn't buy less, I would just put it all in the trolley, then into the boot and into bags for taking into the house when I got home. Plus the bottom of my son's pram comes in handy sometimes!
I buy the 50p big reusable bags normally and then reuse them. If i forget i will buy the 5p bags but i fill them right up 
We’ve had the charge for bags for ages in Wales though so im used to it. I remember going for a weekend away in England after we had the charge in Wales and i was loving life with all the free bags i had when i was shopping 
No I buy same even for home delivery I request bags as use the for bin liners in kids rooms I always forget to take to shop but what annoys me is they charge 5p in McDonald's for a paper bag and 20p in morrison for a paper bag but that's also the price for there bag for life I had a right argument with manager over it no signs up saying about price rise but still I forget my own
If they are the same price then you might as well buy a bag for life and keep reusing it instead of arguing about the price of the paper bag?
GlitchHunter my argument with him was that they 10p everywhere else when they stop selling fruit and veg in packaging I for one won't be shopping there
Ann1984 You wouldn't buy fruit and veg if it's not wrapped in a layer of useless plastic? And here's me hoping ALL the shops stop wrapping fruits and veg. The whole point of fruit and veg having a skin is to protect it. Most veg you peel it anyway! What's the point of the plastic?
I'm glad they brought a charge in for the bags and wish they'd done it sooner. Since the change I use the bags for life and a couple of cloth fold-up jobs that can be kept in my bag for clothing that I buy. (not keen on putting new clothes in with bags previously used for food) Anyone else feel unburdened? Those days when I had to push those bags back in the cupboard with my foot and shut the door quickly......
If my memory serves me right Wales introduced the charge for bags way before the rest of the uk followed suit. I do carry spare bags in the car in case I need some shopping but I don’t like using old bags when buying an item of clothing. Shops should put new clothes and shoes in pristine paper bags just in case you need to return an item.
Oh yeah, you don't want to end up putting new clothes into a wet bag or something. I don't really mind though because I wash everything once before I wear it anyway. You don't know how they store it in the warehouse or who has tried it on before you. Pretty grim if you think of it.
