Aldi Selects NHS Scientist as New Beer Taster

Aldi has appointed Christine Mitchell, a biomedical scientist from the NHS, as their official beer taster. Overcoming tough competition, Christine’s passion and scientific approach to beer tasting secured her this unique role. Residing in Dalry, Scotland, Christine will now influence Aldi’s beer lineup, providing expert feedback to shape future selections.

Christine celebrated her new role by sampling ten new beers and ciders, applying her scientific knowledge to provide detailed reviews. Key products she tasted included the new älska Vintage Pear Cider and the award-winning Grande Spanish Lager. Her insights will guide Aldi’s decisions on their next beer offerings.

Christine shared her excitement: "As a microbiologist, I understand the magic of micro-organisms, including yeast – and without yeast, there is no beer! I really didn’t expect to land this role, so I am very excited to be part of something I’m enthusiastic about."

Aldi has gone far too posh for my likings. Years ago, Aldi operated a pile it sells it cheap formula. Now they are appealing to the middle- and upper-class customers of Waitrose, Harrods!
