At What Age is Too Old for Social Media?

At what age is too old for social media? Such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram? Has any here stopped posting updates after realising it's not worth the time and effort.

The sad thing about social media is that too many folk (especially the young ) let it rule their lives and influence their thoughts .

If you use it as a tool then its fine , but sadly "it " (social media) uses many gullible people as "its" tools .

I'm only on whats ap (if that counts ?) purely to organise my golf games .

I don't think that any age could be considered as too old. The elderly may want to use social media just to keep in touch with loved ones. If anything, there should be a restriction on the MINIMUM age.

Most sites have minimum age of 13

I think it's more down to preference than age. I like using Twitter and Instagram, I find they are good way of getting info on things I'm interested in. I rarely use Facebook.

no such thing as too old for anything. But there is definitely too young for social media, and there should be restrictions

My granny is 83, her and her friends use fb. They video call each other, use messenger, tag each other in posts, put up photos.

We video chat with her every night. You are never too old for social media, you just have to use it sensibly, no matter what age. I wonder argue that it is a case of being too young for social media, rather than too old.

Oh that’s lovely to hear that age group are getting on with technology and keeping in contact with each other. Well done granny.

Pjran they used to have a weekly meeting on a Thursday, they used to rotate whose house they went to for lunch. They have found fb is a godsend for them during lockdown as they can keep in touch with each other and with family. My granny is able to see her Great Grandson every day, can talk to him, sing him songs etc, so she thinks its brilliant.

Never! Both my (late 70s) grandparents have Facebook, after years of us suggesting it to keep an eye on all their grandkids because they complained they never heard from us.. I think they love it now!
