- The £2.49 burger adds a spicy twist with jalapenos, pickles, and spicy relish, sparking mixed reactions.
McDonald’s is gearing up to launch its spicy new Chilli Double Cheeseburger in the UK on November 6, setting off a fiery debate among fast-food fans. Priced at £2.49 and added to the Saver Menu, this burger features two British and Irish beef patties, topped with jalapenos, pickles, onions, and a spicy relish. While some fans are eager to try it, others are less enthusiastic about the added heat.
“Looks good, I’m into chilli sauce now,” one social media user commented, showing excitement for the new offering. Others are wary, however, with one customer stating, “Probably too spicy,” while another added, “Double cheeseburger with a sauce? Hardly cutting edge.”
Sam Walker reported in The Sun that the burger arrives alongside updates to McDonald's Savers range. The new budget-friendly lineup includes other classics like the Hamburger (£1.19) and Double Cheeseburger (£2.29), plus a £5 meal deal option that offers savings on select menu items.
McDonald's has recently introduced several new items, including a Halloween-themed toasted marshmallow latte and cheese bites. In addition, the chain announced a cost-saving strategy, revealing that menu prices can vary depending on location, so customers should shop around for the best deal.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "A spicy twist on a classic burger is bound to create mixed reactions, but it’s an interesting way to heat things up on the Saver’s Menu."
