Aldi vs Lidl?
Ask a Question
Hi there, I usually use aldi for a lot of my staple items but I wondered whether there were any products that I would be better buying from Lidl, or if there were any ranges that Aldi are lacking that Lidl have. I believe the bakery in Lidl is good - any things worth looking out for? And how about fruit and veg, meat, chocolates?
We really like Lidl, maybe because we know it longer than Aldi. I don't know if Lidl and Aldi are the same company, but feels like Aldi is a cheaper copy of Lidl. I don't believe a perfect shop exists where you can do all of your shopping, we usually go to multiple stores for different items.
In Lidl we like:
* The Lidl site - https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/index.htm?ar=10
It is well built page and you can look up the upcoming offers.
* The weekly offers - new themed offers for every week, love the european, greek, XXL, italian, spanish weeks. Like to look through the other non food offers in-store, you can find very good deals.
* The bakery: cheese twists, cinnamon bun, jam doughnuts (the only kind I still like), apple turnover (but they changed the recipes recently)
* Chocolate - Fin carre milk with nuts, Bellarom white chocolate with nuts
* Coffee, grounded - Bellarom Columbian, Deluxe Arabica red and blue package
* Alesto cashew and pistachio - larger bags on XXL week
* Formil washing liquid for coloured clothes
* Aquapur sponges and sponge cloths
* Cien cotton bud and handwash
* Find very god priced 1kg Peanut butter and Nutella
* Fresh meats and some cold cuts
* Deluxe Manchego cheese (better than Aldi's)
And a couple more...
